I can remember going to my in-lawa in Enid one Sunday in the 80's or early 90's. Beautiful spring day. She had windchimes, farmers wife. Lived there her whole life. I remember the wind chimes and she kept looking at them and listening. Suddenly she said "Father everyone in the storm cellar. I was like no sirens nothing this is crazy. For a wind chime. We were down in the cellar about 20 minutes. Came out and house was fine. I said that was dumb. On the way home, I learned a harsh lesson. The damage was unbelievable. She knew. I sent her flowers. It said "Thank you to the smartest woman I know."

I live in L.A. Earthquake country. But the idea of being sucked up in one of these is far more scary to me than the ground shaking underneath my feet.

Guess I’ll grab a beer and go outside and monitor the situation then…

I simply cannot understand why anyone would willingly choose to live in tornado alley if the ability to live elsewhere was possible.

Prayers up for everyone. Oklahoma tornado season is no joke. Lived in Tulsa for eight years and everyone had a “fraidy hole”.

We sit outside and drink beer. Unfortunately, we do not take tornados seriously. It’s literally a tradition to cook food, drink and sit outside like retards..

It stayed in the ground 40 mins… it took on a life of its own, stalling at times, changing directions… devastating tornado. “ mass casualty event”

Last tornado headed my way was scary. I went to back patio and asked God to let it not hit my house. I saw it. That thing turned in front of me and went directly east. Ty Lord.

Oklahomans are tornado savvy and has a good warning system in place. All towns and cities in Oklahoma have warning sirens and great weather and storm trackers.
