Worked with those at Anderson in Guam and Kadena on Okinawa. Amazing aircraft. This is tragic. Doesn’t look good for survivors but there’s always hope.
Wonder if this was one of the planes that received new engines. I saw a post just this week about engine retrofits on B-52's.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the defense contractors and Lockheed Martin executives during this incredibly difficult financial time. It must be truly devastating to watch their favorite instrument of foreign policy, the one they use to bomb sovereign nations into submission, get completely obliterated by a slight malfunction and a bit of gravity. On the bright side, the Pentagon will undoubtedly use this as an excuse to grift another few billion dollars out of American taxpayers to replace it, ensuring the cycle of endless war and corporate profit keeps flying high, even if this particular plane couldn't.
