What you are saying is true but don’t we deserve better? There should be debates for both parties every 4 years. Presidents aren’t Kings and they should have to be accountable to us and have to debate and talk to the people!

Here is the problem. It would need to be a law so that both parties do it. It puts the party in power at a disadvantage.

This is different. Incumbents Obama, the Bush’s, Clinton, Reagan and Carter had records of popularity among their political bases at the times in question, proven by their prior elections. Biden was nominated and elected under extremely suspicious circumstances.
