Alberta would lose far more than it gains by leaving Canada. No more CPP. No more federal healthcare funding. No military, no embassies, no trade deals. Oil exports blocked by BC or the US. Investors flee. Taxes skyrocket to fund everything Ottawa used to pay for—pensions, border security, courts, infrastructure. Indigenous treaty rights would throw everything into legal chaos. And Alberta, landlocked, would be isolated, vulnerable, and poorer.
