Since their defeat in Sool, Mogadishu has become much safer. Al Shabaab has also lost a lot of its power there because many of its top leaders are from Somaliland. Now, Somalilanders are stirring up trouble in Mogadishu. They are using money to bribe half Isaaq/ Hawiye, Darood, and Dir youth in order words youth from issaq mothers to create violence and fights between peaceful communities like we saw in sanaag and sool. Stories like public harassment of girl in stadium which happened in Mogadishu last week, the perpetrators were paid to do that crime in public which was part of their propaganda against Somalia and to further promote their case in western world as being the good Somalis. All Somalis both inside the country and in the diaspora need to stay alert and watch out for these plots and traps.

You know the old saying: “A wounded lion is more dangerous than a healthy one.” After somaliland big defeat in Goojacade, Sool in 2023 and several other losses over the past three years, Somaliland has realized they cannot win a military fight against the unionist forces in Sool (north west Somalia) So now they have switched tactics. Jund Karar is a shadowy #IRGC-affiliated group (Islamic Resistance) that surfaced in January vowing to fight Sharaa Government. The group is based in #Syria, with possible links or presence in Iraq. The separatists mistakenly believe that Trump’s recent comments signal imminent recognition of Somaliland’s independence. The reality is far beyond that! The Trump administration is actually pursuing a peace agreement between Somalia’s federal government and the so-called secessionist region. This would allow the federal government access to Hargeisa, require Somaliland to accept its new borders, and stop opposing the newly recognized federal state in northeastern Somalia, the Northeast State. The separatists must abandon their unrealistic dreams. No one will recognize a state ruled by a single clan without a legitimate cause, especially in such a sensitive region as the Horn of Africa. Trump is clearly pursuing a Nobel Peace Prize and has demonstrated this approach in his foreign policy, pushing for peace between Azerbaijan and Armenia, reconciliation between Rwanda and the DRC, and aiming to resolve the separatist issue in Somalia. His focus is on practical peace and cooperation, not legitimizing division.
