It’s funny though that the second we tried “Christian ethics from a secular foundation” we got modern society with mass abortion, troons, assassination culture and rampant hedonism

Where does he think those secular ethics came from, I wonder? 🤔

The atheist absolutely must shrink God down to a patronizing level in hopes that it reinforces their arguments or points through peer pressure. Calling God a “sky fairy” is not an educated or deep insight, it simply reveals how frail his arguments are.

If m morality only comes from the faculties of the mind then it becomes subjective. Thus making nothing truly evil or truly good, just preferences. This is absurd and illogical. There has to be an objective standard and that is God.

The irony of Asmongold falling to sophistry. I imagine great tragedy and blessing will assure him of our benevolent God.

Find me an athiest on his death bed.....or hunkered in a fox hole. Even at my angriest atheist phase, in my darkest hour.....id beg that God for help that i mocked with a flying spaghetti monster.

I think you can arrive at the conclusion God exists from first principles, so logically this makes sense. “Sky fairy” is an edgy teen’s understanding of God though.

He’s wrong, but we will show him the way, gents

Complains about stupid people. Then complains about the system created to prevent stupid people from destroying society.

Any and all morals are rooted in Christianity. “First principles of ethics and reason and logic.” Dosen’t even scratch the surface.

Asmongold is wrong here. You can't have atheism Christianity. It doesn't exist.

How can you derive it without Christianity? He switches from Christian morality to the Ten Commandments (law), which pre-date Christianity. You cannot derive the teachings of Christ without God (same thing), because they come from God, as such they are the foundation of Christianity and Christ is the fulfillment of the law. Christ said "do to others...", which is the exact opposite of what Plato said, which was "don't do to others" (non-interference). The idea is that Plato was saying all he has to do is leave people alone - to not think about his actions (low IQ). Christ's position is that you have to actually use your brain and think about what you want others to do toward you, and so do such toward them. The statement in the video is pretty ironic, but par for the course for most atheists.

But where do they get these ideas from the first place? That’s the problem, they get theirs from men, we get ours from Him☦️.

You actually can't. Those principles and ethics only exist because of a christian-founded history and civilization.

This isn't surprising coming from an atheist who has no interest in investigating the truth of the Gospel. Even still, Zack is a sharp, thoughtful man. Keep him in prayer and pray he submits to God's call. More and more as the world becomes wicked, people will seek truth in Christ.

This is like enjoying baking because of the instructions and throwing out the cake. It misses out on the ultimate purpose and reward.

Why do Athiests insist on talking about God so much?

Deriving ethics from logic gives it no objective basis. We already live in a world of subjective morality now, Atheism would just accelerate that

This is possibly the dumbest atheistic argument I’ve heard.

wild what moral and ethical principles we can take for granted living in a country founded on Christianity

Absolute horseshit. He was raised in a Christian culture. Of course he is conditioned to think from a baseline of Christian morality. Even in this Christian culture, that morality is eroding immensely. It's been taken for granted, and is far more fragile than people expect.

Someone needs to hit asmon with the transcendental argument.

I like Asmon, but anyone that equates Religion = Dumb it typically just means they are terribly under read and ignorant of the actual content.

That awkward moment when 4/10 of the commandments regard our relationship with God. Hard to derive those from atheism.

The first two commandments and the sabbath are unlikely to be a destination which could be arrived at through first principles.

Then the question becomes, if that is true, why doesn't he perfectly keep them? Why can no one perfectly keep them if they are so natural and logical to come to the conclusion of for all mankind?

Man, I sorta like Asmongold but low IQ is thinking all these morals and ethics of secularism came from nowhere. Maybe 100’s of years of Christianity cultivated it. Crazy idea. Look at the Islamic countries and you’ll see that it’s not just reaching up from the abyss and grabbing at morality. It comes from Christianity!

Almost like those 'first principles' are in the universe for a reason and were set there by an intelligent force. It is SHOCKING to me how myopic ALL Atheists are. 'See I can get there without God' Can't make fire without heat. But they never look into WHY.

Lol. The whole concept of good vs evil, right vs wrong, and morality as a whole are largely borrowed from Christianity. Humans don't naturally come up with these ideas on their own and you can see that plenty with other cultures that permit atrocities because they don't gaf.

Intelligent people typically read the source material they are speaking on (thoroughly), to ensure they understand the material before deciding if they agree or disagree with the claims/conclusions presented by it. The fact he is implying that the Bible is meant for telling stupid people to behave suggests that he doesn't have a strong grip on the material he is speaking on.

He has no clue what he’s talking about lol

Pretty low level analysis. I still appreciate Asmongold for his directness and common sense but anyone who even slightly scrutinizes his argument can see it's flaws. He fails to articulate why stealing = no one owns anything = bad? Misconception morals need to be told, etc.
