HIGHLY trained officers. Instantly drawing their weapons and "get off the X" while putting bullets downrange. For me, despite POS Chas Moore's exploitation of this already broken family, what's more important than a water bottle being compared to a gun...is his blatant furtive maneuver that can only be construed as drawing a weapon from his waistband - including extending both arms while holding said water bottle JUST LIKE A GUN. THAT is the most important thing when judging these officers. They did precisely as they were trained and insured they were gonna go home after their shift. And they did it quite well. Nice work. There is no need to change policy or tactics for some poor kid and his "father of the year". Fck 'em all.

The kid had it coming. This is no loss to society. The real tragedy is that those cops have to live with that kid's death on their minds forever. Good parenting, mom and dad.

Geez this is so incredibly sad. I have a 16 yr old boy. You have to wonder what was going on that lead him to call in. My heartbreaks for him and his family. I did originally think this was overkill but after seeing him grab the water bottle and look like he pointed it, what choice did the officers have? Dang it’s so sad. Wish that young man reached out to someone. Where were his parents?

Heavy all the way around. Hope his people get real support and the officers get whatever they need as well. We keep failing kids before they get to this point.

It is tragic a young person feels the need to do this. It creates such heartbreak and trauma. To those who think the police messed up, they're hiring. Saddle up and show them how to do it, they need people willing and able. That is if you even qualify.

One night, right a shift change, there was an armed robbery a convenience store (more of a bodega, in an old house back in an old, rundown neighborhood). The victim reported a car type (purple Geo Metro) and a partial plate. Description of suspects was “three Hispanic males.” I pass a car occupied three times matching the unique car description and partial plate. Flip around, tail light out, light it up. They pull over. I approach yelling “hands up” repeatedly in English and Spanish. As I walk up to driver, I catch a glint of steel in rear passenger’s (sitting behind front passenger seat) hand at his waist band in my peripheral vision. I immediately turn myself sideways and point my flashlight and firearm at him. But I don’t fire. Because I know I need to see the gun to shoot. The idiot was trying to put on his seatbelt. Despite matching the description perfectly blocks away from robbery, another officer got the actual suspects heading the other way. You have to see the gun or know for sure there is a weapon before you start shooting. While I definitely feel bad for them and it was a tough situation, it was wrong for them to shoot and likely a crime. And while I know Garza has inappropriately gone after cops in the past, this shooting is far more problematic than how the City and the media are framing it.

Ah, shit. That's sad. As a stressed out teen, I'd find myself places in the middle of the night. I never pretended to shoot at police.

Anthoneil Williams’ actions were selfish. He set the stage for “Suicide by Cop” and was successful. The officers and his family will now have to deal with a lifetime of survivors guilty. I walk you through the details below.

So quick to post this surveillance video (no sound), where is the body cam footage? How many times did they continue to pump the kid with bullets in his back after he obviously was no longer a threat? 15 sec go by officer shoots another four bullets emptying his entire clip.
