Even major fields like Zubair in Basra have seen output collapse from 400K to just 250K barrels/day, and most of that oil stays home. Iraq is desperately looking for alternative export routes (trucking to other ports), but the higher costs and insurance are brutal. If the war drags on, Iraq faces a very dark economic future.
