TROOPS OF OPERATION HADIN KAI REPEL TERRORIST ATTACK ON FORWARD OPERATING BASE MAIRARI The Joint Task Force (North East), Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), has once again demonstrated its resilience and combat superiority as troops of CIB XIX at Forward Operating Base (FOB) Mairari successfully repelled a determined night attack by ISWAP terrorists in Mairari, Guzamala Local Government Area of Borno State. On 1 July 2026, at about 2325 hours, the terrorists launched an attack on the base. The troops responded with exceptional gallantry, engaging the attackers in a fierce firefight and forcing them to withdraw in confusion after inflicting heavy casualties on the terrorists and destroying their equipment. Items recovered include AK 47 rifles, magazines loaded with ammunition, Rocket Propelled Gun tubes among others. Surveillance footage further confirmed the evacuation of several dead and wounded terrorists from the battlefield. It would be recalled that Mairari community had only recently been resettled, with over 950 households returning to the area. The attack was also a desperate attempt by the terrorists to instill fear among the residents and disrupt the ongoing resettlement process. However, their objective was thwarted, as no civilian casualties were recorded in the community during the attack. Regrettably, two soldiers and one member of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) paid the supreme price during the intense encounter. Additionally, few equipments were damaged by Rocket Propelled Gun fire during the encounter. The Theatre Command mourns these gallant heroes and extends its heartfelt condolences to their families and loved ones. In a related development, a reinforcement team from Monguno successfully detected and safely detonated two Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) emplaced along the route before engaging the fleeing terrorists. The swift intervention further disrupted the insurgents’ withdrawal and inflicted additional casualties on them. The successful repulsion of the attack underscores the high level of operational readiness, resilience, and combat effectiveness of troops of Operation HADIN KAI. 'Senior ISWAP finance officer' surrenders to troops in Borno Musa Usman, an alleged senior finance operative of the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP), has surrendered to troops of Operation Hadin Kai in Borno state. According to Mohammed Gomi, acting military information officer, headquarters Joint Task Force (north-east) Operation Hadin Kai, Usman surrendered amid a wave of defections from terrorist camps, with about 46 terrorists and their family members voluntarily laying down their arms. OPERATION HADIN KAI FOILS MASS ABDUCTION ATTEMPT AT FGGC MONGUNO Troops of Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), in collaboration with personnel of the Nigeria Police Mobile Force (MOPOL), successfully foiled an attempted mass abduction by ISWAP terrorists at the Federal Government Girls College (FGGC), Monguno, at about 0130 hours (1:30 a.m.) on 19 July 2026. The FGGC facility is currently being utilized by the Borno State Government as temporary hostel accommodation for students of the Federal Polytechnic, Monguno. The terrorists reportedly gained access to the facility with the assistance of suspected collaborators in an attempt to abduct students. Alert security personnel immediately engaged the terrorists with coordinated and overwhelming firepower, effectively stalling their advance with Sector 3 Quick Reaction Force (QRF) immediately reinforcing the school. Confronted by the superior combat capability and determined resistance of the security forces, the terrorists were forced to abandon their criminal mission and flee in confusion without achieving their objective. During the encounter, parts of the school infrastructure sustained damage but the attempt was well contained by troops in conjunction with the Nigeria Police Force personnel. Following the operation, troops successfully rescued and evacuated all 46 students to Kinnasara Barracks, Monguno, where they received immediate medical assessment and appropriate care. All rescued students have been confirmed medically stable and no student was abducted. Regrettably, some students were fatally struck by the sporadic gunfire from the terrorists during the firefight. Operation HADIN KAI extends its deepest condolences to the families of the deceased and reassures the public that all necessary measures are being taken to safeguard the lives of residents and protect critical public institutions across the North East in liaison with the Borno State Government. Ukraine’s State Border Guard Service repelled a Russian infantry assault in which troops advanced while carrying and moving inside pop-up toilet tents used as improvised anti-drone protection. The first videos of Russian troops training with such “technology” appeared back in mid-January, with the tents presented as a way to reduce visibility to drones. This is the first known footage from the Ukrainian side showing a Russian assault carried out using this kind of “special equipment”.

The military says the strikes targeting terror operatives in northern Gaza, Gaza City, and Khan Younis came after five Palestinian gunmen emerged from a tunneland approached troops on the Israeli side of the ceasefire line last night. The targeted terror operatives "had recently been working to restore the capabilities of the terror organizations in the Strip and were advancing terror attacks against IDF troops and the State of Israel," the IDF says. One of the strikes killed Ahmad Bayouk, who the IDF says raided the Re'im military base on October 7.
