Very humane decision on the part of CalState. I worked on that campus in the 1990s, and the student population was 20k at that time. The students spoke 27 different languages as their first language at that time. Beautiful diversity and we loved it. 💙

Given that ICE has been pretty random about these detentions, taking people based on what they look like and not their actual immigration status, the college clearly took the right approach. This regime has created a situation that is very similar to a public health crisis.

BUT over 97% percent of people in the area were born in the UK. There are perfectly legitimate reasons to be unhappy over the state of public services in the area, but it’s not down to immigration. We need to start debating based on facts not scaremongering.

And his companies, also located in Texas, receive billions in tax breaks and subsidies. An uncritical thinker like Asmongold might excuse these handouts by claiming it attracts business to the state, resulting in a net positive effect... But then why aren't public services properly funded? The GDP of Texas just saw a 6.8% annual growth rate while population growth remained BELOW the century long average of 2%. Where is all the money going?
