This morning I am finishing teaching Dr. John MacArthur’s Doctor of Ministry students. One of the students forwarded this short video to me of the California fires raging several miles away from us. Please pray for the mourning relatives of those who have died in the fires, for the many hundreds who have lost their homes and possessions, for the firefighters that they may be able to make progress in containing the fires, and that God would bring gospel fruits of faith and repentance through this huge trial to many people. Pray, too, for Dr. MacArthur (and his wife Patricia) that he would gain strength in the hospital and be wonderfully healed by God doing valiantly for him, enabling him to return home and eventually to his pulpit as well. And, please thank the Lord that the winds have mostly died down here in Los Angeles, and pray for us that we would be able fly home safely later today despite all the backlogs in travel.
