The district Administration and Police were ready to crackdown on protesters with batons and water canons. However, protest was conducted peacefully. The protesters were joined by families of disappeared persons and demanded the immediate, safe and unconditional release of Bebarg Baloch along with all forcibly disappeared Baloch. Once again at midnight, the Sindh police violently attacked a peaceful protest organized in solidarity with the Baloch Yakjehti Committee’s Baloch Raaji Muchi and in opposition to the brutal crackdown on the movement. Many of the peaceful protesters including women's were arrested and detained by the police. When the protesters resisted, the police were compelled to release some of them, though more than ten protesters remain detained. The state is showing fake negotiation on one side, while harassing and arresting peaceful protesters on the other. Today, the 11-day sit-in protest by the families of forcibly disappeared Baloch individuals was attacked by the forces when they were marching towards the Red Zone. Elderly men, women, and children were subjected to brutal violence, including live firing. Dozens of protesters were taken into custody and shifted to unknown locations. For decades, the state institutions' response to peaceful demonstrations has been violence and intimidation. The forced disappearances and genocide of the Baloch people continue, and when the families and civil society protest, they are treated with cruelty, beaten, dragged, and imprisoned. After facing severe crackdown, the protesters have reorganized and continued their protest. We urge the Baloch and Pashtun people to join the protest as soon as possible and call on the judiciary to intervene in this matter to safeguard the right to peaceful assembly of these already victimized people.

The BYC had planned a mobilization campaign in Liyari, leading up to an event on January 25 in Dalbandin. However, when party members and participants arrived at Miran Naka near Liyari, they were met with force, baton charges, and arrests by the Sindh Police. Several BYC members were illegally arrested, including Lala Wahab Baloch, the Central Deputy Organizer, and Sammi Deen Baloch, Fouzia Baloch, and Amna Baloch. The area has been besieged, with police targeting only Baloch citizens. Sammi Deen Baloch is being held at the Karadar Police Station, while Lala Wahab Baloch is at the Chakiwara Police Station. The police are reportedly harassing and threatening Sammi Deen Baloch and kept in jail alone. She escaped an assassination attempt just yesterday. Her life is in danger and Sindh Police is responsible for that. This incident is part of a broader pattern of repression against the Baloch people and human rights defenders.
