Wow! Trump tells Fox News that the US "sent a lot of guns to the Iranian protesters, we sent guns through the Kurds, I think the Kurds kept them." Trump reportedly said the weapons were sent after the Iranian gov started killing protesters in large numbers. Not sure that makes a lot of sense since the Internet was completely shut down at the time, and the US had very limited insight into what was happening. I suspect he misspoke: The weapons were sent through Kurdish groups BEFORE the January 8-9 clampdown. Either way, this admission by Trump rewrites the history of these dark days. My suspicion is that the US and Israel had armed specific groups that infiltrated Iran but could not operate until large protests had erupted. When that happened - both organically and with the encouragement of Reza Pahlavi - these groups were activated and began using systematic violence against the state apparatus as well as civilian targets (banks, mosques etc). COOKED UP IN RAYNER's KITCHEN Five people have been arrested following serious allegations of electoral fraud in Tameside. The question every national outlet is avoiding is why Angela Rayner has not been called in? The threshold for a voluntary police interview is possession of material knowledge relevant to an investigation. Rayner meets it on four separate grounds. 1. She received a formal written complaint on 12 April containing photographic evidence of the precise conduct under investigation. Police need to know who in her office received it, who decided not to act, whether she was personally informed, and what steps if any followed. 2. She employs the declared winner. She would know his political activity and whether he discussed the ward with her before or after 12 April. 3. The scheme was discussed in her kitchen by her activists at an event she hosted. Police need to know what she heard that evening and whether concerns reached her through any other route. 4. Internal Labour WhatsApp groups were used to coordinate the scheme and messages were deleted. As the senior Labour figure in the area, the question of which groups she belonged to and who she was in contact with requires an answer only she can provide. Situation in Northern Kurdistan (Turkey) is spiralling out of control. Protestors have set up barricades in some neighbourhoods and are clashing with Turkish security forces. Protestors are using fireworks, stones and Molotov cocktails to defend themselves against the Turkish security forces. The protests which have turned into riots have seen a surge of more militant groups and individuals joining the riots such as the HBDH and MAK Some reports claim that the Turkish security have began to use live bullets; until now they mainly relied on rubber bullets and water cannons. During the day Turkish security forces run targeted arrest operations with undercover officers. The situation is very reminiscent of the early stages of scenes we have witnessed from 2014-2016 Dead or wounded individuals on either side could have devastating effects on the level of escalation. RE MAK: The MAK has been active since November 2023, carrying out attacks and other activities on a regular basis. They are a decentralised movement of individuals working together for the cause of liberating Kurdistan. As of now: any claim of them being in coordination with other militant groups such as the TAK, YDGH (though both formerly don’t exist anymore) or the Kurdish workers party (PKK) military wing HPG is wrong. For better understanding: anyone who is currently protesting against the Turkish regime could in theory take a video of his actions and send it to the MAK; that’d make you a member of the MAK (it’s more of a movement than a group) RE footage on social media: Please be aware; groups and individuals with different motives are mixing in footage from 2015/16 to create a narrative of protestors being overly violent, armed and under the command of other factions.
