Southwest Airlines will soon require travelers who don't fit within the armrests of their seat to pay for an extra one in advance. Currently, plus-size passengers can either pay for an extra seat in advance with the option of getting that money back later or they can request a free extra seat at the airport. Good news to those who fly to Johannesburg from Harare. The South African airline FlySafair which has started flying into Zimbabwe today has air fares which are more than half the price of fares charged on that route by other airlines. I have just checked their website A return ticket from Harare to Johannesburg leaving tomorrow and coming back on Tuesday next week is R4,022 or US$211. A return Business class ticket from Harare to Johannesburg is R5,635 or US$297, which is cheaper than an economy class ticket on the other airlines on that route who are charging more than US$500 for an economy class ticket. Let us hope and pray that FlySafair won’t be tempted into joining the other airlines into overcharging. Trump's Executive Order on USPS & Mail-In Ballots could finally end rigged elections in California & beyond, regulating mail-in voting at the federal level. The EO puts states on the hook to accompany a list of the eligible voters that are going to vote federally and who they're going to provide mail-in ballots to and also adds a unique intelligent mail barcode for tracking. Trump's March 31, 2026 EO directs the Postmaster General to start proposed rulemaking within 60 days to create uniform national standards for mail-in and absentee ballots. Ballot envelope must be marked "Official Election Mail" with USPS-approved logo/markings. Must be automation-compatible with a unique Intelligent Mail barcode for tracking. Must pass USPS envelope design review for compliance. States must notify USPS at least 90 days before a federal election if they plan to use mail-in/absentee ballots via USPS. States must submit a list of eligible voters at least 60 days before the election. USPS shall not transmit mail-in or absentee ballots to anyone not on a State-specific list. USPS must create and maintain a "Mail-In and Absentee Participation List" for each state. Providing states with lists of enrolled individuals with unique barcode identifiers. All processes must comply with the Privacy Act. Final rule must be issued no later than 120 days from the EO date. This is a HUGE win for election integrity. Ukraine’s interests must be represented both at the official level and in engagement with communities in those countries that are not yet free or remain under Russian influence. There will be personnel changes within the diplomatic corps. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is also preparing candidates for the position of Special Representative on Belarus and the Belarusian community in Europe. A more active policy is needed.

Has anyone noticed how difficult it has become to book tatkal tickets these days? There is an active TQ Ticket agent mafia that is controlling the sales using automated software. For the past 3 days, I've been trying to book TQ tickets for Hyderabad but failing every time. Then I contacted an agent, and he assured me of a 99% probability of getting a confirmed ticket. He asked for ₹500 extra on top of the final ticket price, but when everything is the same for both, how is he so sure about getting a confirmed ticket? I further investigated and got to know about automated software that these agents are using to book TQ tickets. I even came across multiple YouTube/WhatsApp/Telegram channels that are openly selling this software. As a normal human, one can't compete with fully automated software that books a confirmed TQ ticket in just 30 seconds, even for the busiest routes at the busiest times, like Diwali (proofs attached). Firstly, passengers are paying TQ charges on top of ticket costs, and then they are paying an additional amount to these agents to get a TQ ticket, and IRCTC Ministry of Railways are doing nothing about it. Babus don't care as they are getting confirmed tickets in the HO quota, and these problems don't exist for them. Dear Ashwini Vaishnaw As both I&B and Rail Minister, I'm sure that you or your team must be aware of it. Why is no action initiated against such malpractice? Yesterday, Zarah Sultana’s Grassroots Left slate held their Cambridge Launch - advertised as “Fighting for Maximum Member Democracy.” £5 a ticket. In a press conference, public prosecutor Congresswoman Atty. Bel Zamora schooled the Senators saying that the confusion might be rooted from not fully understanding the rules of the House. As per Congw. Zamora, the constitution says that the impeachment complaint should be included on the order of business within 10 session days and must be referred to the appropriate committee within 3 session days —- session days are different from 10 calendar days. On the 10th session day, February 5, all impeachment complaints were referred to the plenary and since the 4th complaint has more than ⅔ vote of the members… the House immediately transmitted it to the Senate, all others were archived. Presiding Officer Chiz Escudero keeps saying that they will follow rules and precedents — Former Impeachment Presiding Officer Juan Ponce Enrile ruled that the verified impeachment complaint transmitted to the Senate must be dealt with presumption of regularity and legality.
