Directly inspired by this article that I came across last night by @Noah_ram1 for the @GainesvilleSun.

Also mentioned the influence of Florida Director of Basketball Strategy and Analytics Jonathan Safir, who co-authored one of my personal favorite hoop studies of all time on late game fouling.

Here's another somewhat similar example of Golden using this strategy during his time at San Francisco.

Train your shooters on the same technology the top coaches use for player evaluation. #MakeMoreShots #WinMoreGames

Yeah, but I have a hard time believing your PPP with 10 seconds left going length of the floor is actually .9. I get it if it's end of half with the ball, 20+ seconds. I'd love to know the actual rate of coming away from this scenario net positive in this situation for them.

With how fast offenses score these days, it's probably not that far off.

I love how you explain everything exceptionally well and give exact numbers, yet there are still people who are doubting you. People just have no comprehension of probabilities. In their mind if they don’t foul, the other team won’t score, but if they do he’ll hit 2 every time.

That's the beautiful thing about analytics. They do not care what biases people have for or against them.

If this is true, then shouldn’t Oklahoma immediately foul Florida after the missed free throw?

Now you're asking the right questions.
