India’s External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar speaks about why India had to suspend issuing visas for Canadians since security of Indian diplomats in Canada was a major concern after threats and attacks from Khalistani terrorists. Jaishankar hopes relations would improve in future. Note: EAM Jaishankar’s security was also increased to Z category earlier this month after threat assessment by Intelligence Bureau.

Interviewed by CBC News Canada on Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar killing which has led to India-Canada diplomatic standoff, I highlighted how PM Justin Trudeau has shown no political will to act on Indian dossiers against Khalistani terrorists. If Canada believes in International rule of law, let them hand over Gurpatwant Singh Panun to India. Panun has threatened Indian PM, HM, EAM, NSA and Indian diplomats. He also threatened me in 2020. Nijjar was seen brandishing guns with gangsters in Canada as well as Pakistan. Canada at no stage has shared even a shred of evidence on Nijjar killing with India. Justin Trudeau has surrendered to the pressure of Khalistani terrorists and his NDP partner Jagmeet Singh. Why did Canada at no stage investigate and create an uproar on the killing Sikh Activist Ripurdaman Singh Malik? If you speak to family members of Osama Bin Laden they will also say he is was a saint. Khalistanis can’t issue moral certificates on a terrorist. It was Canada which escalated the issue by going public inside parliament. It is for Justin Trudeau to now find a solution to this issue by acting against Khalistani terrorists. Not by provocations using terror as a foreign policy tool.

If Canada does it will be acting selectively in quashing freedom of expression. India should respond by canceling all OCI cards of Canadian citizens of Indian origin who are sympathetic to pro-Khalistan elements. Also New Delhi should attach properties, financial assets in India belonging to Canada based Khalistani apologists. Suspend multiple entry visas of all Indians in Canada to trigger a backlash against the minority pro- Khalistani groups. Last but not least, stop all student visas to Canada.
