🚨NEW: UN puts Israel “on notice” over sexual violence blacklisting as flawed Israeli report also drives Hamas listing UN chief António Guterres has warned Israeli Ambassador Danon in a letter that’s Israel could be added to the UN’s Conflict-Related Sexual Violence blacklist — to be presented at the Security Council on August 19 — over “credible information” that Israeli armed forces have carried out sexual violence, including genital abuse, prolonged forced nudity, and degrading strip searches, across multiple prisons, a detention center, and a military base. The UN has documented patterns of such abuse, and a March commission accused Israel of systematically using sexual and gender-based violence and committing “genocidal acts,” including by destroying sexual and reproductive healthcare. Israeli media say Guterres also plans to list Hamas, thanks to Bar-Ilan University’s 80-page Dinah Project report released earlier this year. As Ryan Grim points out in his report for Drop Site, the document offers scant new evidence, and instead pushes to lower evidentiary standards — dispensing with victim testimony, forensic proof, or links between perpetrators and acts. It claims, “even one isolated act… can constitute a crime against humanity… there is no need to prove that the sexual assaults were systematic and premeditated.” The report’s goal, Drop Site reported in July 2025 appears overtly political: secure Hamas’ blacklisting and sanctions as Israel itself faces possible listing. UN Special Rapporteur Reem Alsalem says no independent body has found such violence by Hamas to be systematic, and Israel has continued to obstruct full investigations.

Syed Bibi Baloch, a member of the Baloch Yakjehti Committee, was summoned once again to the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) office in Turbat this morning, only hours after being released the previous night. Upon her arrival, she was arrested and transferred to Central Jail under Section 3 of the Maintenance of Public Order (3 MPO) for one month. For the past eight months, Syed Bibi has faced continuous harassment by state authorities. After being placed on the Fourth Schedule, she was required to report to the CTD office every week while her phone and communications remained under constant surveillance. A widow living in Turbat with her two young children, Syed Bibi supported her family through traditional embroidery after her husband’s death. Since being placed on the Fourth Schedule, however, she has endured sustained psychological pressure and intimidation. Her bank accounts were frozen, her embroidery business collapsed, and obstacles were created even in relation to her children’s education, making it nearly impossible to live a normal life because of her dissenting views. Four days ago, following the Baloch Yakjehti Committee’s announcement of a rally in Turbat, the pressure against her intensified. Throughout the day, she received repeated calls and threats from CTD officials. Later that night, at around 9:30 p.m., security personnel raided her home, arrested her, and took her to the Women’s Police Station, where she was told she would be released after the rally concluded. She was released at approximately 10:00 p.m. the following night. Just thirty minutes later, she received another call stating that Military Intelligence (MI) personnel wanted to question her. She replied that she could not appear in the middle of the night and would present herself the next morning. Despite this, police raided her home three times during the night, breaking down the door, damaging household belongings, and searching the premises. Officers also raided her mother’s home, harassed family members, attempted to forcibly take away her bedridden brother, photographed the interior of the house, and caused further damage to property. Fearing for their safety, Syed Bibi spent the night with her two children in a graveyard beside her late husband’s grave. The next morning, she spoke to the media at the Turbat Press Club and publicly described the events. While there, she received another call instructing her to report to the CTD office. When she complied, she was arrested again and detained for one month under the 3 MPO. The treatment of Syed Bibi Baloch raises serious concerns about human rights, civil liberties, due process, and the rule of law. Silence in the face of such allegations risks creating an environment in which further abuses may occur. We respectfully call upon the international community—including the United Nations, the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR), relevant UN Special Rapporteurs, international human rights organizations, democratic governments, civil society organizations, and independent media—to closely monitor the situation, raise these concerns with the relevant authorities, and advocate for the protection of fundamental rights, including freedom of expression, peaceful assembly, and due process. We also urge national and international institutions committed to justice and human rights to help ensure accountability and the protection of individuals facing alleged harassment or arbitrary detention. BREAKING: Dr. Cochav Elkayam-Levy, founder and chair of the Civil Commission on October 7 Crimes by Hamas Against Women and Children, challenges the U.N. over its failure to stand with Israeli victims. Cochav Elkayam-Levy's powerful testimony on behalf of UN Watch: Our Civil Commission’s report, Silenced No More, was recently presented to you. Drawing on an extensive historical archive, we assembled the most comprehensive evidentiary record of the sexual crimes of October 7 and in captivity. For two years, we immersed ourselves in testimonies of unimaginable violence. We revealed 13 patterns of abuse — including rape, gang rape, sexual torture, and the deliberate mutilation of victims’ faces and genitalia. Victims were filmed while being tortured. Families were forced to see the suffering of their loved ones. We had to coin a new legal term – kinocidal sexual violence – to describe the deliberate sexual torture of family members. This terror was made for visibility. Women’s bodies became spectacles of war. This was also a calculated strategy, repeated again and again. The truth is that Hamas created a blueprint for others to follow, putting women at risk worldwide. Finally, the question is no longer whether the crimes occurred. But what is the world do about it. Speaking for so many Israeli women who care about women’s rights, we were heartbroken by your response. Where is your compassion? Will the UN rapporteurs who doubted or denied these crimes acknowledge the truth? Israeli victims were not merely abandoned. They were singled out, dehumanized, delegitimized. We are now left to face a world consumed by hatred, and with an international system that fuels it. Will anything change? We call upon you to recognize our findings. And let this be the beginning of change. The Civil Commission

Open Letter to the International Community, Human Rights Organizations, and the United Nations Subject: Urgent Appeal to Protect the Pashtun National Jirga and Address State-Sponsored Terrorism in Pakistan To the Global Community, United Nations, and All Human Rights Organizations, We, the Pashtun Tahafuz Movement (PTM) United States, are writing this urgent open letter to bring to your immediate attention the severe state-sponsored repression against the Pashtuns in Pakistan. This grave situation requires global action to stop the escalating violence and ensure the protection of basic human rights. On October 11, 2024, the Pashtun National Jirga, a historic assembly rooted in Pashtun tradition for peaceful decision-making and conflict resolution, is scheduled to take place in Pakhtunkhwa. This gathering will unite Pashtuns from across the region to peacefully advocate for their rights and protest against state violence. However, in an alarming and oppressive move, the Pakistani state forces have confiscated the designated Jirga ground, turning it into a militarized zone. Armed security forces have built posts and established a strong presence in the area to prevent the peaceful assembly from taking place. These aggressive actions reflect the state's intent to violently disrupt the Jirga, intimidate participants, and silence the voices of the Pashtuns. In addition to this, the communication channels with Jirga organizers have been severed, isolating them from the outside world and making them even more vulnerable to state repression. The lives of those planning to attend are at immediate risk, and their fundamental right to peaceful assembly and free speech is being brutally denied. This confiscation of the Jirga ground and militarization of the space is not an isolated act but part of a broader, long-standing pattern of state-sponsored terrorism aimed at erasing Pashtun voices and suppressing their peaceful demands for justice. We urgently call upon the international community, the United Nations, and all human rights organizations to take immediate and decisive action: 1. Condemn the State’s Repressive Actions: Publicly denounce the Pakistani government’s confiscation of the Jirga ground and its use of armed forces to prevent a peaceful assembly. 2. Demand the Immediate End to Militarization: Call for the removal of military posts and security forces from the Jirga site, and ensure that the Pashtun National Jirga can take place without fear of violence. 3. Insist on Protection for Participants: Ensure that the safety and rights of all those attending the Jirga are protected, in accordance with international human rights standards. 4. Investigate Ongoing Abuses: Launch independent investigations into the human rights violations committed by the Pakistani state against the Pashtun people, including the confiscation of public spaces and violent repression of peaceful assemblies. 5. Hold the Pakistani Government Accountable: Urge Pakistan to comply with its international obligations to protect the rights of all citizens, including the Pashtun people, and to cease its discriminatory and violent actions. The silence of the global community in the face of these violations has only emboldened the perpetrators. We must not allow the Pashtun people to be oppressed and brutalized in the shadows. Immediate action is needed to prevent further violence and ensure that the Pashtun voices are heard. We appeal to all defenders of human rights and justice to stand with the Pashtun people in this critical moment. The world cannot turn a blind eye to this state-sponsored terrorism and the assault on fundamental freedoms. Thank you for your immediate attention to this urgent matter. Your action can save lives and uphold justice. Pro-Armenian Congressman Frank Pallone Arrives In Baku For COP29, Faces Hostile Protests & Government-Backed Manipulation ➖➖➖ Pro-Armenian U.S. Congressman Frank Pallone has arrived in Baku, Azerbaijan, for the UN COP29 climate summit, stepping into a tense and hostile environment, reports Zartonk Media. Upon Pallone’s arrival, he was surrounded and harassed by pro-government pseudo-journalists who hurled politically charged questions unrelated to the climate agenda. Outside, protesters demanded his deportation, holding signs and chanting slogans such as “Pallone apologize or get out!” Azerbaijani police allowed these demonstrations to proceed while ignoring escalating hostility—clear evidence that the protests were orchestrated and sanctioned by the regime. This coordinated campaign is part of a broader Azerbaijani government propaganda effort aimed at discrediting Pallone and other advocates for Armenian rights, raising serious concerns about the safety of U.S. officials and supporters of Armenian causes abroad. The situation further calls into question the credibility and impartiality of COP29, as Azerbaijan appears more focused on political posturing than genuine climate discussions. Pallone, a prominent advocate for Armenian issues and co-chair of the Armenian Congressional Caucus, is well-known for his strong stance against Azerbaijan’s aggression and human rights abuses. As the ranking member of the U.S. House Energy and Commerce Committee and a member of the House Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Caucus, his presence at COP29 underscores the intersection of political tensions and environmental discussions. “It is outrageous for a foreign dictatorship to try to bully and intimidate an American legislator, simply standing up for human rights,” said Aram Hamparian, Executive Director of Armenian National Committee of America (ANCA) to Zartonk Media. ➖ Before his visit, Pallone reaffirmed his commitment to climate action, stating in a post on X: “The United States must remain a leader in the global fight to combat the worsening climate crisis. Now more than ever, I look forward to attending the COP29 climate conference to demonstrate that America is still in this fight.” His arrival underscored the political tensions undermining the climate conference’s integrity. Azerbaijan has used COP29 as a platform for political maneuvering instead of genuine climate dialogue. Government-sanctioned demonstrations against Pallone’s pro-Armenian stance exemplify Azerbaijan’s efforts to silence dissent and manipulate international platforms. Azerbaijani state media and pro-government NGOs further fueled tensions by making baseless accusations against Pallone’s guards, alleging violence and misconduct—tactics aimed at deflecting attention from Azerbaijan’s own human rights abuses. The regime’s claims of “inclusive dialogue” are clearly a facade, as dissent is met with repression and harassment. Pallone’s participation at COP29, combined with his advocacy for Artsakh Armenians, highlights Azerbaijan’s misuse of international forums and underscores the need for global accountability for its war crimes, hostilities, and oppression of Armenians in Artsakh. In a letter to the U.S. State Department, Pallone and 60 pro-Armenian lawmakers emphasized holding Azerbaijan accountable for its actions and illegal occupation of Armenian territories. The treatment of Congressman Pallone at COP29 demonstrates Azerbaijan’s ongoing efforts to weaponize international platforms and suppress legitimate discourse. Protests outside his hotel, the targeting of his security detail, and state-sanctioned harassment expose the true nature of this “climate summit”: a platform for propaganda and repression. The world must not remain silent.

🇺🇸Urgent Appeal to Secretary of State Marco Rubio: Investigate the Torture and Murder of U.S. Citizen Gonzalo Lira in Ukraine 🇺🇦 My name is Oleksandr Dubinsky. I am a member of the Ukrainian Parliament. I have been in prison for 14 months for speaking the truth about the Bidens’ corruption in Ukraine. Secretary Rubio, I want to bring this crucial information to your attention. An American citizen, Gonzalo Lira, was killed in a Ukrainian prison in early 2024. Before that, he was kidnapped by Ukraine’s Security Service (SBU) and held in a secret concentration prison in Kyiv known as the "Gym". This concentration camp operated from February until November 2022 and was created right in the headquarters of the SBU in the center of Kyiv. The existence of the concentration camp is known to the United Nations , has been raised at the UN Security Council, and has been included in UN human rights reports. [116] My lawyer’s team has obtained witness testimonies from people who were with Lira in a secret prison in early 2022. Later, the SBU let Lira go. But when he started to post on X about Biden and Zelensky’s corruption, SBU arrested him again — this time in Kharkiv, and put him in prison. There, he was beaten, tortured, and extorted for money. They broke his ribs. He developed pneumothorax and in December 2023, Gonzalo Lira died from double pneumonia. He was tortured and killed in a Ukrainian prison. The Ukrainian judges knew he was in danger but kept him imprisoned. If he got out, he would have exposed the SBU’s torture. One week later after his final court meeting — he died. No investigation. No answer for this crime. To this day. There is something even worse — Ukrainian media, controlled by Zelensky, oligarch Viktor Pinchuk, and the Soros Foundation, spread absolute fakes. They published Lira died “naturally because of illness”. But we know the truth. Lira posted about his torture and extortion publicly on his last day of freedom on his X Gonzalo Lira I have been through this myself. I am a member of Parliament, and I was beaten and tortured twice in a Ukrainian prison. Even one year after, I still can’t get an investigation into this tremendous crime against me. Mr.Rubio, you should take Lira’s death investigation under your control. Because the Ukrainian authorities — won’t. Stop U.S. Funding for Ukraine’s Security and Law Enforcement Agencies. The SBU uses American taxpayer money to run concentration camps in 21st-century Europe, control the judiciary, fund prosecutors who sabotage investigations, and support media that stay silent on this and label it as "disinformation". They kidnap. They beat. They torture. They force people to confess to crimes they never committed. Secretary Rubio, I urge you to push for a full investigation into Gonzalo Lira’s death in Ukraine. The truth must come out, and we must stop this from happening again. Marco Rubio Donald J. Deception as a Weapon of Genocide: The Chilling Orchestration of Atrocities Against the Amhara In this one-minute and six-second video, Ato #Fantahun_Wake shares shocking revelations that illuminate the calculated and insidious methods employed in the ongoing #AmharaGenocide in Ethiopia. According to his account, the Oromia regional special forces, operating under the ideological banner of what Dr. Yonas Birru Yonas Biru has aptly described as a low-grade #Nazism, the toxic doctrine of #Oromumma, disguise themselves with Orthodox Christian necklaces to gain the trust of Amhara victims. This calculated deceit allows these forces to present themselves as fellow adherents of the #EOTC, ensuring that the targeted Amhara perceive them as protectors rather than executioners. Ato Fantahun recounts his experience in the town of #Dodolla in Arsi province, one of the epicenters of gruesome anti-Amhara atrocities. While documenting these crimes, he observed soldiers wearing Orthodox necklaces, which initially brought him relief as he assumed they were fellow Orthodox Christians committed to safeguarding lives. Months later, however, he discovered the horrifying truth: one of those soldiers admitted the necklaces were merely “for work,” a deliberate ploy to disarm the suspicions of Amhara and Orthodox followers before striking against them. This chilling revelation exposes not only the brutality but also the systematic deception underpinning the state-sponsored persecution of the Amhara and followers of the EOTC. It is a grim reminder that this genocide is not a spontaneous outburst of violence but a meticulously planned campaign of extermination cloaked in religious symbolism and ideological hate. The world must heed these warnings: Ethiopia is being driven into an abyss by an ideology that thrives on deceit, ethnic hatred, and weaponized identity. Silence or inaction in the face of such orchestrated evil risks normalizing genocide as a political instrument in the Horn of Africa. Israel operates the most well-documented network of rape dungeons on earth. Ali Abunimah: "I want to contrast that with what the same UN Secretary General's report says about the sexual violence against Palestinians. The headline finding from his report to the security council is that the UN actually verified conflict related sexual violence including rape and torture by Israeli forces against 31 Palestinians from Gaza in the West Bank. The victims were 14 men, 7 women, 9 boys and 1 girl. The crimes that the UN verified included and this is going to be very graphic. I warn people in advance: Rape, rape with objects, gang rape, attempted rape, forced nudity, threats of rape, unwanted touching of breasts and genitals, genital violence, targeted shooting of the genitals, and strip and cavity searches without apparent justification. Rape and gang rape, sometimes repeated, were verified against 9 victims, most of them from Gaza. The perpetrators identified by the UN include the Israeli army, the Israel prison service, its Keter special forces, and Yamam, the police counter terrorism unit. These abuses took place mainly during detention and interrogation at prisons and detention sites including Etzion, Megiddo, Offer, Ramla, Hasharon, and the Gushkon police station. The victims included journalists and human rights defenders. Some of the violations were filmed or photographed, including one rape. Men and boys were subjected to rape, attempted rape, and genital violence. 5 male victims suffered severe rectal bleeding or swelling for days or weeks, in some cases without medical treatment. So this is what the UN's report says about the 31 cases and it stresses that these are 31 cases that it verified but that there are many many more cases, where there are strong allegations that it could not yet verify, and that is, again, largely due to obstruction by Israel because Israel refuses to allow uh UN access to its detention centers or to allow investigators into Gaza where many of those detainees were released back after lengthy detention. And again, this is entirely consistent with other independent reporting which is all based on firsthand accounts and medical evidence such as the Euro-Med Monitor report I mentioned which contains utterly horrific firsthand accounts. We've written about that as well. And you find nothing analogous on the Israeli side. Absolutely nothing analogous. you find these vague uh uh accusations, these very uh sweeping general statements, but no really specific well documented cases. Briahna Joy Gray: "I think that it is so important that you did what you just did...."

I hereby address U.S. Secretary of State Secretary Marco Rubio with an urgent proposal for the introduction of the LIRA ACT: a legislative initiative aimed at the imposition of sanctions for human rights violations in Ukraine, specifically regarding abductions and murders perpetrated by the Zelensky administration. One of the victims of these actions was U.S. citizen and journalist Gonzalo Lopez Lira. Mr. Lira was abducted upon the direct orders of the leadership of Ukraine’s Security Service (SBU) and initially confined in the “GYM” concentration camp in Kyiv. There, he was subjected to intimidation and coercion, being pressured to cease his public dissemination of videos exposing the corruption of both Joe Biden and Volodymyr Zelensky, as well as his vocal opposition to the true causes of the war. Subsequently, Mr. Lira was detained for a second time in Kharkiv, where he was robbed by SBU officers and placed in the Kharkiv pretrial detention center (SIZO). Within the detention facility, prisoners under the control of the administration subjected Mr. Lira to torture and extorted $70,000 from him. The extorted sum was demanded as payment for the establishment of bail through the court, which would facilitate his release from SIZO. Following payment to the extortionists and the establishment of bail, Mr. Lira was released and publicly disclosed his ordeal on his social media platforms. Among his disclosures, Mr. Lira posted a message indicating that he was advised to leave Ukraine. On August 2, 2023, Mr. Lira was detained at the Hungarian border and once again placed in Kharkiv pretrial detention. He was held in inhumane conditions, contracted pneumonia, which eventually progressed to pneumothorax due to further abuse within the prison. Tragically, Mr. Lira passed away in January 2024. The administration of the detention facility, the SBU, judges, and prosecutors were fully aware of Mr. Lira’s deteriorating health, as documented during the final court hearing concerning his case in December 2023. Despite his severe medical condition, Mr. Lira was not released from detention, and the authorities allowed his death to transpire. Below is a list of individuals responsible for Mr. Lira’s death and the operation of the SBU’s network of secret prisons, concentration camp "Gym". I provide the list of individuals engaged in the violation of human rights is extensive. In Ukraine, the practice of abductions, torture, and extortion remains widespread, facilitated by the SBU and covered up by the judiciary and the State Bureau of Investigations (SBI). The only effective means of halting these abuses, under the current dictatorial regime of Zelensky, is through the imposition of targeted U.S. sanctions against the implicated individuals. The enactment of the Lira Act will serve as an essential step toward restoring justice in Ukraine. Ivan Bakanov – Head of the SBU at the time of the concentration camp establishment (organizer). 🔵 UN spokesperson Farhan Haq delivered an update Monday on conditions in Gaza and the West Bank. Key points from his statement: ▪️ ‘Tactical pause’ has not changed reality Two weeks after Israel’s “tactical pause” announcement, UN staff report “realities on the ground remain largely the same.” Aid “remains by far insufficient” and convoys still face danger and delay. ▪️ Convoy delays up to 18 hours “Some missions inside Gaza take more than 18 hours to be completed,” with UN teams “compelled to wait for more than 10 hours at a stretch on the roads,” which are “often dangerous, congested, or impassible.” ▪️ Access blocked for critical missions Of 11 UN missions requiring Israeli coordination yesterday: 7 were facilitated, 2 were impeded, 1 to collect health items “was not fully accomplished,” and 1 was canceled by organizers. ▪️ Aid seized by starving crowds In recent days, wheat flour, hot meals, and rations were collected at crossings—but “most of the cargo was offloaded by the hungry crowds before reaching its destinations.” ▪️ Child malnutrition at ‘catastrophic’ levels UNICEF warns that recent nutrition supplies—biscuits for pregnant women, infant formula, hygiene kits—are “still a fraction of what is needed,” with malnutrition “reaching catastrophic levels.” ▪️ Fuel levels dangerously low but recent approvals welcomed Yesterday, the UN collected 200,000 liters of fuel from Kerem Shalom. But “while some 70,000 liters of fuel are needed every day for emergency operations, only 29,000 liters have been received”—far below minimum requirements. ▪️ Forced displacement expands A new Israeli evacuation order today covers the Tufah neighborhood of Gaza City. OCHA warns these displacements “push people into overcrowded, unsafe areas with no shelters and essential supplies.” ▪️Only 12% of Gaza is accessible OCHA reminds that “only 12% of Gaza is outside the Israeli militarized zone or areas affected by displacement orders”—meaning nearly the entire population is trapped in unsafe zones. ▪️ No shelter supplies have entered Gaza for 4 months UN partners “are still unable to respond to shelter needs due to zero stock,” with “no shelter supplies having entered Gaza since early March.” ▪️ Ceasefire urgently needed “The UN and our partners reiterate that a ceasefire is critically needed to reach all those in need,” and again call for “a sustained uninterrupted and scaled up flow of aid including commercial goods.” ▪️ Settler violence escalating in West Bank OCHA recorded “at least 24 Israeli settler attacks against Palestinians” last week—causing casualties and property damage. The UN warns: violence by Israeli forces and settlers “continues unabated.”
