Factional PDP National Chairman Tanimu Turaki made the announcement on behalf of opposition parties at the National Opposition Summit in Ibadan, Oyo State. The opposition leaders also called for the resignation of INEC Chairman Professor Joash Amupitan, saying he's not fit to conduct the 2027 general elections due to his alleged partisan support for the ruling APC.

In 2025 after the party was hijacked, he was expelled by the faction of the party aligned with David Mark. However, a rival faction loyal to Nafiu Bala rejected the expulsion, describing it as an attempt to seize control of the party. Was it also Tinubu that ask Atiku, Peter obi and David mark to expel the only ADC elected member?
