The market and short-term minded investors seem to be obsessing over one quarter, while I’m looking at where this company is going over the next 5-10 years. Bro… this is what I see: • Deliveries are up +25% YoY to a RECORD second quarter. • Revenue is up +26% YoY to $28.2B, pushing Tesla above $100B in trailing 12-month revenue for the FIRST TIME EVER. • FSD subscriptions up +56% YoY to 1.48 million, with a record 55%+ attach rate on new North American Tesla deliveries. • Energy storage deployments up 41% YoY, with Megapack demand continuing to grow. • Services revenue up 50% YoY, becoming a larger, higher-margin part of the Tesla’s business. • Robotaxis are now operating across seven major metros, with Cybercab production officially underway. • Optimus production lines are being installed this year. • And despite investing more aggressively than ever, Tesla still finished the quarter with $43.5 billion in cash. Welp...FSD(V13.2.2) smacked right into a curb on the Cybertruck today...Both wheel caps are destroyed. I have re-watched the footage many times at this point and I am still puzzled as to why FSD decided to veer to the right. Quite frankly unacceptable behavior. To be abundantly clear, there was no one around me that would make FSD want to steer out of the way, I was not distracted at all and supervising the vehicle the entire time, and there was NO time to react to avoid this incident.. Thankfully no one was injured, and there seemingly is no additional damage to the vehicle or the wheels themself. Tesla AI team (Wes too), please feel free to use my vehicle's telemetry data or any additional data to look into this to avoid this happening in the future if you so choose. (DM me if any further info is needed) This is incredibly disappointing to me. I understand this is a "supervised" software but dang, does it sting when there is nothing you could have done to avoid this (Other than not using the software at all). To be clear, I still believe in the FSD mission, but I will not be using the software until the next revision. Lastly, and in some better news, the Tesla North America Ridgepoint service location did an incredible job at quickly checking my truck to make sure its safe to drive, and getting me some wheel covers IMMEDIATLY! As always, I appreciate you Ridgepoint team!

Why Hyderabad Drowns After A 20min Rain? I may not have a simple answer to this complex question but was in Raidurgam area yesterday and this what I saw. This is right next to the Raidurgam metro. It is like the IT hub of Hyderabad and look at the state of things here. Roads are being dug to lay drainage pipes. Locals told me it has been close to a year since they started digging. The debris is just lying on the road, existing drainage seems to be damaged and all the sewer is flowing on to the main road. To make things worse, many are parking right on the road making the congested area much more difficult to commute. There is no parking space at Raidurgam Metro. If someone wants to take the metro, they have to arrive on a separate vehicle to reach. Plus there are a million autos lined up on the road. Traffic police who hide behind trees or corner you in some random street won’t regulate traffic on the main roads. They won’t show a solution to park vehicles but will collect challans. Why are you collecting challans without any space being earmarked for parking? Do you expect people to jump off a parachute and get into a metro? We look at China, Japan with their advanced technology of laying roads in a day and will be wowed. Here governments talk about AI city, Future City and such money minting projects for the government and still get wowed. Why isn’t AI or advanced technology being used to repair roads, drainages or maintain infrastructure in the existing city??? Why this craze to call the existing city a dump and then pumping huge public money into a nonexistent Future City? Why is governance driven by real estate ambitions of a few politicians?

Uber is Dead, my reflections on Waymo I’ve been in San Francisco for just over a week, during which I’ve taken 7 rides with Waymo, a similar number with Uber, and a few with FSD Teslas. My journey to SFO via Uber was alarming—the driver veered out of the lane multiple times and nearly crashed on a ramp, seemingly vying for a one-star rating or to genuinely scare me. Conversely, my experiences with Waymo were virtually flawless, if you don’t consider overly cautious driving a fault. I experienced a minor hiccup when we got stuck behind parked cars because the vehicle thought they were queuing at a red light. It quickly resolved the confusion and moved on, which was rather amusing. Waymo, and other Level 5 autonomous vehicles, are poised to revolutionize the movement of people and goods. The most apt analogy I can think of is that Waymo is transforming the real world into an automated Amazon warehouse, with people as the goods and Waymo vehicles as the robots shuttling them around. With the advent of personal transportation becoming incredibly affordable, sending anything from point A to point B using a self-driving electric vehicle will soon be within easy reach. One of Waymo’s standout features is privacy. Riding in an Uber often means being subjected to the driver’s loud group chats on some app, making the journey neither quiet nor private. In contrast, Waymo offers a fully private experience, allowing you to have confidential phone conversations or chat freely with fellow passengers without distraction. Waymo also reimagines the concept of a car. Without the need for a driver, we can eliminate the front console, reduce weight, and remove the steering wheel. This opens up possibilities for passenger seats to be reoriented, perhaps facing backwards, or for the vehicle to become a mobile living room. Tomorrow’s vehicle designs will differ drastically from today’s. Destinations that are currently expensive and logistically complicated to reach via Taxi/Uber, often lying outside public transport routes, can be simplified to a single “Waymo” journey. This could shift the current model of “Uber + public transport + Uber” to a more streamlined experience. As more cars become self-driving, we could see a reduction in the amount of time cars are parked—from 99% of their lifetime to perhaps just 25%. This not only improves unit economics but could also decrease the number of cars on the road. This transition represents one of the most significant shifts for Generation X. In conclusion, the future is autonomous, electric, and efficient. Uber, as we know it, is dead.

Gated societies are not India's future. Townships are. Think about why gated societies became so popular in the first place. It was never just about security. People wanted good roads, proper footpaths, parks, greenery, cleanliness... basically a place where they could step out without having to deal with the everyday problems outside. But even the best gated society has one problem. The moment you step outside, you're back to reality. You still have to go to work. Your kids have to go to school. You have to visit hospitals, restaurants, shopping areas and a hundred other places. And you have to navigate the bad traffic, dirty roads, potholes on roads, etc. That's where I think townships come in. I recently visited Bhartiya City in North Bangalore. It's spread across 125 acres and has residential societies, offices, schools, hospitals, hotels, restaurants, parks... almost everything you need. The roads, footpaths, greenery and public spaces are all maintained by the private developer. You're no longer buying just a flat, but buying an entire environment/ecosystem. And this is happening because people have slowly stopped expecting good public infrastructure from the government. They'd rather pay a private developer to build and maintain it. First we paid extra for a gated society. Now we're paying for an entire town. Think about how crazy that is. People pay so much in taxes, yet they still feel the need to pay again for good roads, parks, footpaths, cleanliness and basic civic infrastructure because they don't expect to get it outside. People are trying to escape the problems of India... while still living in India. I genuinely think this is where Indian real estate is headed. More townships. More self-contained ecosystems. More people choosing to live inside these bubbles because that's where they find the quality of life they're looking for.

But the conversation changes when an 85 year old retiree on a fixed income is paying $15,000 a year just to stay in a home they already paid off decades ago. Property taxes are tied to rising home values. As neighborhoods become more expensive, assessments increase and tax bills rise with them. The problem is that homeowners do not need to sell their property, earn more income, or receive any actual cash for those bills to go up. A couple who bought a modest home in the late 1980s may now live in a property worth several times what they originally paid. On paper, they look wealthier. In reality, they may still be relying entirely on Social Security or retirement savings that have not kept pace with rising costs. That creates a situation where people can become “house rich but cash poor.” They technically own valuable property, but the monthly tax burden can become impossible to manage. Many states do offer relief programs for seniors, including homestead exemptions, tax freezes, and income based credits. But these programs are often difficult to access, limited by strict qualifications, or reduced when budgets tighten. The people who need the help most are often the least likely to successfully navigate the system. It is possible to support property taxes as a way to fund essential public services while also recognizing that the system needs reform for older homeowners living on fixed incomes. Those ideas can exist together. You can’t expect someone who’s 67, or 72, or 85 to keep paying the government $10,000-15,000 every year just to live in their own paid off house. If you defend this system you’re brainwashed. Nowhere else costs this much only here.

🇨🇳🇹🇼 The most dangerous part of a Taiwan war may be China’s ability to turn huge parts of its civilian economy into part of the war effort almost overnight. Taiwan has been drilling for the possibility that routine Chinese pressure could suddenly become a real attack, while Beijing continues near-daily air and naval activity around the island and practices blockade-style operations. If war actually began, China’s advantage would not just be the PLA. Its revised mobilization framework allows Beijing to redirect industry, transport, energy, communications, healthcare and private resources toward wartime priorities. That means civilian factories could be repurposed for drones, vehicles, electronics, spare parts and munitions. Commercial shipyards and transport networks could be folded into military logistics. China’s huge technology workforce could be redirected toward cyber operations, intelligence, electronic warfare and network defense. And its population gives Beijing an enormous pool for reserve forces, logistics, engineering, medical support and replacement manpower. That creates a brutal problem for Taiwan. Taiwan has around 23 million people and very little strategic depth. China has the world’s largest manufacturing base and a population of roughly 1.4 billion. Even with U.S. help, the war would quickly become about more than who has the better missiles or aircraft. It would become a race over who can replace losses faster. The U.S. would be fighting across the Pacific, dependent on long supply lines and forward bases, while China would be operating next to its own factories, ports and transport networks. Washington would also have to replace expensive missiles, aircraft components and naval losses while protecting bases from Chinese strikes. China, meanwhile, could potentially keep feeding the conflict with huge volumes of cheaper drones, missiles, electronics, ships, vehicles and personnel. None of that makes a Chinese victory automatic. An amphibious invasion of Taiwan would still be extraordinarily difficult, and U.S. intervention could impose enormous costs. But China’s sheer ability to convert civilian economic power into military output could become one of the decisive factors. The real nightmare for Taiwan is therefore not just surviving the first wave. Its revised mobilization framework allows Beijing to redirect industry, transport, energy, communications, healthcare and private resources toward wartime priorities. That means civilian factories could be repurposed for drones, vehicles, electronics, spare parts and munitions. Commercial shipyards and transport networks could be folded into military logistics. China’s huge technology workforce could be redirected toward cyber operations, intelligence, electronic warfare and network defense. And its population gives Beijing an enormous pool for reserve forces, logistics, engineering, medical support and replacement manpower. That creates a brutal problem for Taiwan. Taiwan has around 23 million people and very little strategic depth. China has the world’s largest manufacturing base and a population of roughly 1.4 billion. Even with U.S. help, the war would quickly become about more than who has the better missiles or aircraft. It would become a race over who can replace losses faster. The U.S. would be fighting across the Pacific, dependent on long supply lines and forward bases, while China would be operating next to its own factories, ports and transport networks. Washington would also have to replace expensive missiles, aircraft components and naval losses while protecting bases from Chinese strikes. China, meanwhile, could potentially keep feeding the conflict with huge volumes of cheaper drones, missiles, electronics, ships, vehicles and personnel. None of that makes a Chinese victory automatic. An amphibious invasion of Taiwan would still be extraordinarily difficult, and U.S. intervention could impose enormous costs. But China’s sheer ability to convert civilian economic power into military output could become one of the decisive factors. The real nightmare for Taiwan is therefore not just surviving the first wave. Today I had my first demo drive in a Tesla. It was also my first time ever sitting in one. This was the first car I’ve ever sat in the driver’s seat of where I didn’t touch the steering wheel for over 20 miles. Before I even got to the car, the people who had demoed it before me were an older married couple who were absolutely euphoric. They thought it was so cool that the car could drive itself. The Tesla employee told me this happens all the time. People come back from demo drives and tell the next test driver that they’re about to have an amazing experience. Little did I know, I’d end up carrying on the torch to the next couple demoing it after me. There was a ton of construction where I demoed the car, and FSD handled the entire drive extremely well. And yes, it can go through a drive-thru and stop at each window. The only thing I had to do was tap the pedal because it wouldn’t leave on its own, but it was still wild seeing the AI stop perfectly at the second window and wait. There are a million things I could write about why a Tesla feels like a better car and how much more it offers compared to a regular car. But for now, I’ll stick to FSD. There were only two moments that made me a little uneasy. The first was pretty minor. The car slightly hesitated going up a driveway, but quickly made up its mind. The second was more noticeable. I didn’t realize the car was nagging me. Once I touched the steering wheel, nothing happened, so I pulled it right a little harder, then let go. After that, the car turned left and crossed a double yellow on a backroad. (and yes I know you can sue the volume knob) I’m not totally sure if it was trying to pull over or what it was doing. I wanted to see how it would handle the situation, but there were cars coming, so I took over and corrected it. One of the coolest moments was when I thought FSD was glitching because it came to a complete stop in the middle of a busy road. Then I looked around and realized why. On the right side, there was a bicyclist waiting at a yellow crosswalk. The cars behind me didn’t honk, and the Tesla stopping actually incentivized another car in the right lane to stop and let him pass. The car is almost too nice to pedestrians, because 99.999% of humans would’ve blown through that, especially with no flashing light. For 99.9% of the drive, the car navigated confidently and smoothly. It was a real “feel the AGI” moment. Please do not let the media, the general public, or anyone else convince you that this technology is just some kind of auto assist or glorified cruise control. This is undoubtedly getting extremely close to feeling superhuman. You still have to pay attention to the road, but after experiencing it myself, I’d be shocked if HW4 Teslas aren’t unsupervised within the next couple years. The car was extremely smooth. There was no harsh braking, and it even avoided something in the road that I didn’t see. Driving with FSD made me realize I probably wasn’t driving as well as I could be. Hopefully, eventually, everyone’s car can be as mindful as a Tesla. I’ve never seen a brand so far removed from the public’s sentiment. I’m so happy I ordered one.

Last year, he came across news about an accident near Amarnath. A bus carrying pilgrims met with an accident due to brake failure. Several people were affected. That incident stayed with him and became a trigger for developing a patent pending fail-safe breaking mechanism. ----- I met Khaleel Syed at our ಮುಂದೆ ಬನ್ನಿ meetup in Hubballi in December. Like many others in the room, he listened quietly, asked a few questions, and stayed back after the sessions. A month later, when he explained what he had been building, I understood what confidence can unlock in tier 2 India. Khaleel is from Gadag and studies at KLETU Hubballi. He is pursuing a combined BCA and MCA degree. He is deeply interested in the automotive domain. His father has worked in the automotive field for several years, including time in Saudi. Growing up around that environment, Khaleel always felt that he should do something meaningful in this space. Last year, he came across news about an accident near Amarnath. He and his father started thinking seriously about whether something could be done to address this problem. They began experimenting on their own. Over time, they designed, fabricated, mounted, and tested an apparatus that could act as a fail safe braking mechanism. They developed a system that could be mounted onto the rear axle shaft. In case of brake failure, the driver can press a button placed near the driver’s seat. Once activated, the vehicle comes to a gradual halt within about 10 to 12 seconds. There is no jerk. The stopping is smooth, ensuring the vehicle does not topple or lose control. The system also automatically switches on the hazard lights, alerting other vehicles that something is wrong. To test this properly, they even bought an old Tata Ace truck using their own money. They modified it to install the apparatus and tested it under multiple conditions, both with and without load. The Tata Ace normally carries about 750 kg, but they also tested it with close to 1 tonne of load. The system worked well in all scenarios. Within about 8-9 months, Khaleel and his father took this from idea to a working prototype. With the help of KLETU, Khaleel has applied for a patent. The EIR hearing is already done, and he is hopeful about the next steps. What made me really happy was not just the technical achievement. Khaleel told me that he got the confidence to reach out to me only because of the Hubballi meetup. Because everything was discussed in Kannada, he felt that a small town boy like him could also think big. He felt that his ideas were valid and worth pursuing. He reached out to seek help in connecting with OEMs and others who could support him in commercialising this idea and taking it further through professional testing and industry adoption. If this idea eventually gets adopted at scale, it could make heavy commercial vehicles and buses more fail safe, reduce emissions, and possibly save lives. I don’t even know what to say anymore.Watching a helpless donkey/pony being forced to pull loads far beyond its capacity… and then being beaten mercilessly while doing so this is not just cruelty, this is brutality at its worst. How can someone be so heartless? And the audacity to film it and post it on Instagram like it’s something to be proud of? This is beyond disturbing. We live in a time where there are alternatives e-rickshaws, small transport vehicles, so many humane options yet some people still choose to exploit these innocent animals and torture them for their own convenience. This is not tradition. This is not livelihood. This is abuse. I don’t know whether such people need strict punishment, counseling, or something even stronger but this cannot be ignored. There has to be accountability. These voiceless souls suffer in silence, carrying pain we cannot even imagine. Seeing this breaks my heart and fills me with anger at the same time. If anyone has details about the location or the people involved, please come forward. This needs to be reported and stopped. Because if we stay silent, we become part of the cruelty. This is not humanity. This is disgrace #AnimalAbuse

Hills I will die on as an elementary school teacher, who just wrapped up my 32nd year teaching! 1. If you are not PASSIONATE about blessing, serving, and empowering those you are blessed to teach, this profession is not for you. 2. Our students are not “ours”. They are their families, and we need to understand the magnitude of the calling, and responsibility we have to meet them where they are, and to help them to get to a place that they never thought possible. 3. As important as the curriculum is (and it IS important), the children in our classroom are what matter most. It’s our JOB to teach the curriculum to SERVE our students, NOT to use our students to push any sort of agenda. 4. Just as we teach our students to “leave things better than they found them”, we need to leave our students better than they were when they first entered into our classroom. Never let a day pass without pouring into each and every child. 5. We should not teach our children WHAT to think, but HOW to think, and how to use that knowledge to bless and serve not only themselves, but the world around them. 6. Our words carry little (or NO value), if we do not practice what we preach. 7. If we don’t make learning fun, children will view learning as a chore, and we we will be creating a generation of children who grow up to be young adults who don’t see the joy in learning new things. 8. The child that may be “difficult to reach/teach” (the one who may get on your last nerve more than you could ever imagine), is someone’s EVERYTHING. Get to know them as human beings, find out what motivates them, and do everything you can to help them to thrive. 9. Never tell a child they “can’t” do something. God has blessed each of them with far more strengths and talents than we may know, and it’s not our job to tell them what they can’t do, but to help them to realize all the things they CAN do. 10. The legacy you leave as a teacher will never be determined by your student’s test scores, but by the human beings you helped them become throughout their lives.

This carrier is tied to at least four other businesses. This was their fifth truck crash. They average 2.67 violations every time they are inspected and get put OOS at least 50% of the time. That means this is not some freak once in a lifetime event. It happens constantly. In this Colorado crash, police say the semi came off Santa Fe Drive, went off the road, hit a parked car, and shoved it into a QuikTrip building. The wall partially collapsed. The person inside the parked car had to be rescued. There were employees and customers inside the building. The driver reportedly claimed brake failure, but investigators said they found no mechanical issue with the truck and cited him for careless driving causing bodily injury. This is who we, as in our families, are sharing the road with and this one is not even as bad as some others. By the time a truck is plowing into a gas station, the real story usually started long before the day of the crash. It started with what kind of carrier was allowed to keep operating like this.
