The troops' swift response to a distress call resulted in the rescue of passengers who had been kidnapped while traveling in a commercial bus. The troops upon receiving the distress call, rapidly mobilized and confronted the terrorists, who were armed with assorted weapons. A fierce firefight ensued, compelling the terrorists to abandon their captives and flee the scene. The rescued passengers have been taken into safe custody, where they are receiving necessary care and support. Meanwhile, the troops are currently pursuing the fleeing terrorists.

Troops neutralise three suspected armed robbers in Kaduna By Zagazola Makama Troops of Operation Lafiyan Jama’a have neutralised three suspected armed robbers during an operation to recover weapons in Kaduna State. Intelligence sources told Zagazola Makama on Wednesday that the incident occurred at about 6:30 p.m. on Monday during a follow-up operation based on the confession of arrested suspects. According to the sources, the three suspects had earlier been arrested in connection with a series of armed robbery attacks and were assisting troops in investigations. During interrogation, the suspects reportedly confessed to possessing arms and ammunition hidden in a forested location and offered to lead troops to the hideout. However, while en route to the location, the suspects allegedly attempted to escape by attacking a soldier and trying to snatch his weapon. Troops responded immediately, neutralising all three suspects in the process. “The quick response of the troops averted a potential escape and ensured the safety of the escorting team,” the source added. TROOPS ELIMINATE TOP SAMBISA COMMANDER, 10 TERRORISTS IN NIGHT OPERATION Troops of the Joint Task Force (North East), Operation HADIN KAI, have recorded a major operational success with the elimination of a senior Boko Haram/ISWAP commander, Abu Khalid, and 10 other terrorists during a night operation in Borno State. In a statement signed by the Media Information Officer Headquarters Joint Task Force North East Operation HADIN KAI, Lieutenant Colonel Sani Uba says, Abu Khalid, identified as the second-in-command of Boko Haram in the Sambisa Forest, was neutralised by troops of Sector 1, in collaboration with the Civilian Joint Task Force, during an engagement at the Komala area of Konduga Local Government Area at about 11:00 p.m. The operation came barely 24 hours after the elimination of another notorious commander, Julaibib, in the Gujba axis of the Timbuktu Triangle. Abu Khalid was a key figure in the terrorist hierarchy, responsible for coordinating operations and logistics within the Sambisa axis. Items recovered during the operation included five AK-47 rifles, magazines, bicycles, assorted logistics and food items, as well as large quantities of medical supplies. No casualty was recorded among the troops. Clearance operations are ongoing across the Sambisa Forest, Mandara Mountains, Timbuktu Triangle and other terrorist hideouts in the North-East.
