What I knew then and what I know now are two different things. Then, the perception was that Wike didn’t allow Governor (Fubara) to function. People ask me all the time, “Can a Democrat win in Oklahoma?” The answer is YES. Because Oklahoma is not a red state, it’s a gerrymandered state. Just two governors ago, we had a Democratic governor and a more balanced legislature. Today, Oklahoma is ranked 50th in quality of public education and 49th in access to affordable health care. After nearly two decades of one-party control, we are at the bottom of the lists that matter most to working families. It’s not because Oklahomans don’t care, it’s because the maps protect politicians instead of representing the people. Oklahomans want a governor focused on what actually affects their lives: strong public schools, affordable and accessible health care, and an economy that works for everyday families. Those are not partisan issues. They are Oklahoma priorities. As Governor, I will fight for real, sustainable investment in our public schools, including meaningful pay raises for teachers and support staff. I will work to strengthen and expand access to affordable and accessible health care, especially in rural Oklahoma. And I will focus on lowering costs and building an economy that works for everyday families. Thank you to Governor Andy Beshear for having me on the podcast and helping elevate these issues. Oklahoma deserves better, and I trust the people of this state to help us move forward.

On May 3rd, 2024, Rt. Hon. Ben Kalu visited Governor Alex Otti, OFR, to commend him for his outstanding performance and for restoring the dignity of Abia State. According to him, he had come to “tell the world that Governor Alex Otti is doing well,” emphasizing that his commendation had nothing to do with political party affiliations. He said he believed the Governor was genuinely passionate about making Abia proud again. At that time, Ben Kalu did not realize, or perhaps did not care, that it was the President providing the federal funds for the projects. He didn’t rush to divert the credit to the President, neither did he remember that he was the opposition leader in the state. In fact, he openly admitted that the works of Governor Otti were so many and so visible that Abians could once again feel proud of their state. He further affirmed that the Governor’s bold steps in governance would surely lead Abia to the promised land. Interestingly, that was a period when Ben Kalu still had a human face. Back then, power had not yet intoxicated him. His arrogance had not yet taken full form. Fast forward to October 5th, 2025, watch the video and judge for yourself. It’s the same Ben Kalu, but a different location and a different date. He has now remembered that he is the opposition leader. He now claims that credit should not go to the Governor, and suddenly, the President must be acknowledged. People like Ben Kalu should be approached with caution. These are the kind of leaders who claim to be guiding you toward a destination but will abandon you midway. This is a wake up call to everyone Ben has managed to hoodwink into believing they are on some political mission or battle. First of all, Governor Alex Otti has no battle ahead. There is no war to fight. The battle Ben is drawing exists only between him and Abians. To Ben’s followers, have you now seen that your principal, the man you so highly adore is inconsistent? Be careful not to make enemies for yourself and your generation in the name of defending a man who cannot stand by his own words. Another grave allegation has been leveled against the Honourable Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle, by his former aide, Musa Kamarawa. In a second video, Kamarawa alleged that Bello Matawalle has police officers working for him who kill whomever he orders and spare whomever he chooses. Musa Kamarawa, a former aide to Bello Matawalle, swore by the Qur’an that all interactions he had with bandits and terrorists were carried out on Matawalle’s instructions. He challenged the minister, or anyone who believes he is lying, to swear by the Qur’an in the same manner. He further stated that he was granted bail during Bello Matawalle’s tenure as governor, but was later charged to court under Governor Dauda Lawal’s administration. According to him, the court eventually discharged him after failing to establish any direct link between him and bandits.
