One of the protesters against the assisted s—icide bill in London communicated through a speech-to-text device. The disabled activists I spoke to following the vote to legalize assisted dying said they worried this would put the UK on the same path of other countries where disabled people seen as a burden on public healthcare are encouraged to die.

London — The disability rights activists often brought up assisted s—icide legislation in Canada as one reason why they oppose legalizing it in the UK. Canada’s amended law now allows for assisted dying for those with “psychological suffering,” even without terminal illness.

@InclusionLondon A sad day for humanity.

@InclusionLondon Just wait until they pass a law allowing "doctors" and the state to make the decision for you.🤨

@InclusionLondon With socialized medicine, like in Canada, they use bully tactics like pulling Medicare and delaying other services. Almost leaving no other option than to go into crippling debt, suffer, or go with MAID. It's disgusting

@InclusionLondon BREAKING: British Parliament Initially Passes Dangerous Bill to Legalize Assisted Suicide

@InclusionLondon It goes beyond the killing of the body, it's aimed at the corruption of the soul.

@InclusionLondon A dark day for Western society.

@InclusionLondon You will now be able to get a prescription for death. If you think the qualifications for it will be reserved for the most terrible of those who suffer, you are wrong. Prepare to see this prescription make its way into Mental Health services.

@InclusionLondon Canada signs up people with treatable afflictions, veterans, and suicidal people. Nothing is stopping the UK from doing the same if they allow this. Don't let it happen!
