Canada doesn’t have the economy or military strength to lead anything. Only liberal Canadians buy into the hype that Canada has the gravitas to be a world leader while its economy is sliding into recession. Yes, the World wants to follow a Canada.

They wouldn’t be in this position at all, if they hadn’t stamped Chinese goods, with the Canadian flag and sold it to the USA. I do believe, that was President Trump’s breaking point.

Canada has built a manufacturing base that is highly integrated with the U.S. manufacturing base. They cannot simply stop on a dime and start manufacturing things without decoupling from the U.S. economy. There will be a significant financial and resource impact to them if they attempt this. This is political malpractice on the part of Canadian politicians to not communicate just how painful this will be. They speak as though this will be a simple pivot away from the U.S. and it will be anything but. There will be a minimal impact to the U.S. because Canada is such a small part of our imports but we account for approximately 70 % of all Canadian exports. As an American I am insulated from this because it will have minimal impact on my life but I feel sorry for Canadians and the impact that it will have on them.
