Iran's annual ceremony marking the death of Islamic Republic founder Ruhollah Khomeini was held for the first time in 36 years without a supreme leader delivering the keynote address, following the death of Ali Khamenei. The new supreme leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, has made no public appearances since his appointment and organisers announced his message was read aloud in his place rather than delivered in person.

🚨 BREAKING: Mojtaba Khamenei the son of Ali Khamenei reportedly chosen as Islamic Republic’s new “Supreme Leader” after his father. I told Fox News: Iranians want me to send this message to President Donald J. Trump: Finish the job. If Ali Khamenei had been removed during the 12-day war, Iranians might not have faced such massacres. Replacing him with another Supreme Leader will only repeat the same nightmare. Thank you, Martha MacCallum , for continuing to give a voice to Iranians.
