.Duncanville High School Football 🏈’s Zachery Turner was a dangerous weapon for the Panthers at Tight End. A part of an elite receiving corps, Turner's sure hands consistently moved the chains for Duncanville this season. Despite being primarily a pass catcher, Turner has great blocking ability in the run game as well. He racked up 37 catches and 8 TDs this season at over 14 yards per catch. Turner is staying in DFW to play for SMU Football and is our Parker University MVP.

Eleven years ago today, Alabama defeated Notre Dame 42-14, capturing their 15th National Championship. Hanging out with the Irish fans all week in Miami was a treat; I learned that they created football, and without them, the game as we know it could never be played. However, after just 15 minutes of football, I couldn’t find any of them, as AJ McCarron, Eddie Lacy, Amari Cooper and the greatest offensive line in college football history completely took control of the game. Alabama led 28-0 at halftime, and Brian Kelly remarked that the only way Notre Dame had a chance in the second half was if Alabama chose not to come out of the locker room. This National Championship game was one of my favorite games to cover. Let’s give a shoutout with a “Roll Tide” for this incredible group of players! The senior class achieved an impressive feat, winning three National Championships in four years—a rarity that we may never see again in college football. Samuels spent some time with the San Antonio Brahmas in Training Camp in '24. Paul Clancy, R.I.P It is with tremendous sadness that we heard about the sad and untimely passing of our former double All-Ireland Senior Football winning player and Maigh Cuilinn clubman, Paul Clancy. Paul enjoyed a stellar sporting career with the Galway Senior Footballers. He tasted success five times in the Connacht Football championship in 1998, 2000, 2002, 2003 and 2005. The crowning glory of his senior football career was the winning of the two All-Ireland Senior Football titles with Galway in 1998 and 2001; ending a 32-year famine to return the Sam Maguire Cup to the Tribesmen. As a leader and driving force in his club Cumann Peile Mhaigh Cuilinn, Paul served as Club Chairperson from 2019-2023. During this era, Maigh Cuilinn claimed their first ever Galway Senior Club Football championship title in 2022, this was followed with further success when Maigh Cuilinn added Galway and Connacht senior football titles in 2022. One of his greatest club days as a player was when Maigh Cuilinn captured the All-Ireland Intermediate Football title in 2008. Over the past few years, Paul has contributed to numerous coaching roles. He served as selector with the Galway Senior Football team under Alan Mulholland, the Galway All-Ireland-winning U21 Football team and as a selector with the Laois Senior Football team under Justin McNulty. He has also provided guidance and coaching expertise to several club teams and colleges' football teams. Paul was always readily available to step in and help others on and off the field of play and we are truly indebted to him for his wonderful contribution to the GAA over the past few years. Galway GAA extend our heartfelt condolences to his wife Johanna, children Ellen and Finn, his mother Mary, brother Gearóid, sisters Linda & Ailish, the extended Clancy family, friends, former teammates and the Maigh Cuilinn club community. The Greatest Texas Tech Football Player To Wear The Number 19 Taurean Henderson Taurean Henderson was one of the most versatile and productive players in Texas Tech football history, starring as a running back from 2002–05 under head coach Mike Leach. In his four-year career, Henderson rushed for 3,241 yards and 50 touchdowns on 587 carries, while adding 303 receptions for 2,058 yards and 19 receiving touchdowns. Altogether, he accumulated 5,299 yards from scrimmage and 69 total touchdowns, averaging 6.0 yards every time he touched the ball. Henderson's career was filled with records. He finished with 414 points, still one of the most prolific scoring totals in Texas Tech history, and his 69 touchdowns were a school record. He caught a pass in 51 consecutive games, establishing an NCAA record, and his 302 career receptions as a running back were also an NCAA record at the time. He became the first player in Big 12 history to rush for more than 2,000 yards and record more than 1,500 receiving yards during his career. His individual accomplishments included First-Team All-Big 12 honors in 2005, All-Big 12 recognition in 2004, and Big 12 Coaches honorable mention in 2003. As a freshman in 2002, he set NCAA and Texas Tech freshman records with 98 receptions, 633 receiving yards and 1,453 all-purpose yards. In 2005, he scored 22 touchdowns, tying Byron Morris' Texas Tech single-season record, and was selected as the team's Most Valuable Player. Henderson finished his career as one of the defining all-purpose weapons of the early Mike Leach era.

The Greatest Texas Tech Football Player To Wear The Number 19 Taurean Henderson Taurean Henderson was one of the most versatile and productive players in Texas Tech football history, starring as a running back from 2002–05 under head coach Mike Leach. In his four-year career, Henderson rushed for 3,241 yards and 50 touchdowns on 587 carries, while adding 303 receptions for 2,058 yards and 19 receiving touchdowns. Altogether, he accumulated 5,299 yards from scrimmage and 69 total touchdowns, averaging 6.0 yards every time he touched the ball. Henderson's career was filled with records. He finished with 414 points, still one of the most prolific scoring totals in Texas Tech history, and his 69 touchdowns were a school record. He caught a pass in 51 consecutive games, establishing an NCAA record, and his 302 career receptions as a running back were also an NCAA record at the time. He became the first player in Big 12 history to rush for more than 2,000 yards and record more than 1,500 receiving yards during his career. His individual accomplishments included First-Team All-Big 12 honors in 2005, All-Big 12 recognition in 2004, and Big 12 Coaches honorable mention in 2003. As a freshman in 2002, he set NCAA and Texas Tech freshman records with 98 receptions, 633 receiving yards and 1,453 all-purpose yards. In 2005, he scored 22 touchdowns, tying Byron Morris' Texas Tech single-season record, and was selected as the team's Most Valuable Player. Henderson finished his career as one of the defining all-purpose weapons of the early Mike Leach era.
