I don't understand how stupid you got to be to mess with a federal officer. Interfering with federal officers while they are carrying out their lawful duties can have serious legal consequences, including potential obstruction charges. This is not something to take lightly. Whether you agree with what the officers are doing or not, physically interfering with or unlawfully obstructing federal law enforcement can potentially result in arrest. As for the mayor involved, the facts and circumstances should determine whether any law was actually violated. But elected officials are not automatically exempt from federal law simply because they disagree with an enforcement action. You may like the law or dislike it. You may agree with the officers or disagree with them. But everyone needs to understand the law, know their rights, and understand the potential consequences of interfering with law enforcement. The law applies through the legal process—not through personal opinion.

Federal agents handcuffed Lander and took him into custody. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) stated he was arrested for "assaulting law enforcement and impeding a federal officer". Lander denied assaulting any officer.

And they should lock him up in an undisclosed black site pending a lengthy investigation! Say 6 months in the dark! Before charging him with assaulting a federal officer and public endangerment!
