![Elden Ring: Nightreign | Gameplay Overview Releasing exactly two weeks from today. ▫️ The overall structure of the map will not change from run to run - this includes Sites of Grace, cave entrances, and major geographical features. ▫️ Points of interest, rewards, bosses, and mini-bosses will be randomized each run however. ▫️ World Events can take place at the start of your run. This will affect the map or your next run in some way. ▫️ One example is 'Shifting Earth: Crater' which transforms the northern part of the map into a giant volcano pit. ▫️ Enemies in these areas are more challenging but you should always try to explore them. ▫️ IGN: "Exploring the crater took us pretty much the entire second day, but when we did eventually make it all the way to the bottom, we beat a boss that granted us an Epic rarity reward by itself [...] but then also the Unique reward of upgrading any weapon in your arsenal to Max Level for free." ▫️ If you don't want to play with the assigned World Event, you can reset it by sleeping at the Roundtable Hold. ▫️ Random Events can also occur during your run occasionally - similar to the Margit invasion in the Network Test. ▫️ More random events - A giant tornado can appear on the map. Upon reaching it, you're invaded by a group of challenging NPCs. A mysterious boss can also appear that attacks from miles away, with each hit lowering your level. ▫️ Eight Nightfarers/classes at launch. Each one has unique weapons, abilities, and Ultimate Arts. ▫️ Up to 3-player co-op with matchmaking. If a teammate goes down, simply attack their body to get them up. The bigger your market, the better your minimum loadout becomes ▪️Contracts provide "valuable direction", bring welcome diversity and add a "precious hit of semi-permanent progression" ▪️Prestige Cores: Rare items that can "really push the boundaries" (ex: Glitch has an upgrade that turns double jump into triple jump for more manueverability) ▪️Another rare item is a backpack that turns you invisible while interacting with containers (very useful when everyone on the map is hunting you) ▪️Each match "feels like the most important one ever", high stakes, "surprisingly challenging AI enemies" that were "much, much better at surrounding and overwhelming players than the vast majority of AI enemies found in other games" ▪️Having a balanced crew helps in exploring the "dark and forgotten places" in maps - filled with deadly creatures like a species of giant ticks who swarm you frantically ▪️Battles can become frantic as you encounter other crews, stalk them across the map, encounter AI enemies to fend off when others come to claim your loot (one preview battle turned into a 9 player free-for-all) ▪️Downside could be the reward system where skilled players enter fresh matches with high level gear that outmatches less skilled players, though Bungie says it has gone out of its way to try and make it where a poorly equipped squad can still stand a chance if they play well ▪️Even if you die, you can can still get upgrades, improve your reputation with factions, advance in perk trees, etc by completing various quests, looting chests, or fulfilling specific objectives which unlock new bits of story and can grant perks like buying slightly better gear from vendors ▪️"The world Bungie has built is every bit as beautiful as it is creepy and dystopian, and there are moments where they satisfyingly hint at the events of the Marathon trilogy from the ‘90s", though "what little I saw did only slightly more than pay lip service to the world" ▪️Uses the seasonal reset model like in Diablo 4, where players are stripped of their loot and progress at the end of each season to mix things up with new content and new meta ▪️Game is designed to get you killed, Bungie expects average exfiltration rates to be comfortably below 50% ▪️"You will lose a lot, and losing hurts a lot[...]Extracts are snapshots of this unpredictability. ![The US is well advanced in preparations for a war on China. Here are 28 steps taken. Bookmark this, and please add others. 1. BATAN: The US quietly carried out a major operation last summer to deepen the harbour on the island of Batan, south of Taiwan—so that warships can use it on their way to the China coast. 2. LANDING STRIPS: A US team has compiled a list of long flat areas in Asia that can be used as aircraft runways for use in launching fighter jets to bomb China. 3. PRACTICE RUNS: US troops held exercises specifically preparing for an invasion of China last year with armies from Japan, Australia, and Indonesia. 4. TAIWAN TRAINING: The US military landed troops in Taiwan secretly to train soldiers---and they are now learning how to attack amphibious vehicles. 5. TROOPS IN PLACE. More than 100,000 US troops have already been assigned to what the US calls the "Pacific Theatre". 6. DISINFORMATION: The Pentagon has set up a division called Perception Management to tell the public that China is an expansionist military power, not the USA. Mainstream media is hiding the fact that Taiwan is legally part of China and instead reporting that China "claims" Taiwan. 11. CONFLICT CREATION: The Philippines under new pro-Washington leader President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has been working hard already for months to create conflicts in the seas. LAWFARE: Acts will be passed in the US demanding that the whole world boycotts China, exactly as the US did with Russia three years ago. 24. BLACK OPS: The US has been quietly penetrating parts of China with trained troublemakers, as they did in Hong Kong. CIA and US army intelligence groups will conduct "black ops" inside China in a bid to create chaos. 25. DRONES: The US has a long record of successfully using killer drones.
