Those payments weren't illegal. When his attorney puts it through the campaign, it's the attorney. That attorney is advising. And even if it happened, it's a misdemeanor, not a felony. Ask Obama, who had campaign finance penalties

That's up to the jury to decide. The payments were not illegal per se, but falsifying business records is illegal, and if they are done in an attempt to cover up another violation (in this case, allegedly campaign finance violations), it's a felony.
