On September 9, 2001, a driver traveling northbound on 1-95 in Cecil County, Maryland, near the Delaware line, was pulled over by a Maryland State Police trooper for driving 90 mph in a 65 mph zone. Finding no warrants or suspicious behavior, the trooper gave him the ticket and let him go. In a statement he said: “Earlier today, I was discharged from the rehabilitation center to continue my recovery at home.” McConnell added that he and his wife Elaine “are grateful for the many well wishes and support,” and will “maintain an intensive regimen of physical therapy from home” while staying engaged on important Senate business. I had pulled my Nexon over to the side of the road for a tea break and was moving slowly along the shoulder when a lorry came from behind and hit me. When I confronted the lorry driver, he claimed he hadn’t even touched, But my dash-cam had captured everything. After we reviewed the footage, he apologised. Even so, I refused to let him leave until the police arrived, because in his drunken state he could have caused another accident. He had been driving all night without rest while intoxicated. A 92 year old veteran came to court believing he was about to lose the only home he had left. Walter Reed had served his country decades ago during the Vietnam War. Now he lived alone in the same small house he had owned for most of his life. His wife had passed away years earlier, and no children were around to help him. Time hadn't been kind to the house. The porch had started to fall apart, paint peeled from the walls, and rain slowly made its way through the roof. City inspectors had written several code violations, and the fines had grown into an amount Walter couldn't afford. That morning he arrived in court in a wheelchair. Police in KwaZulu-Natal will now seek legal recourse against Mr Mathibeli for his image-tainting utterances. BREAKING NEWS: Police are searching for Colonel Ismail Dawood. His lawyer’s assured police he will hand himself over and he did not. Gauteng anti corruption unit pounced on Dawood’s townhouse complex in Sandhurst JHB- he was not home. They’ve now launched a search. He is being wanted on a charge of extortion amounting to over R350 000. A warrant of arrest was issued earlier. Colonel Dawood is a senior South African Police Service (SAPS) Crime Intelligence officer. He has been arrested for extortion believed to about R350 000. Dawood has earned a reputation for leading several high-profile kidnapping investigations and rescue operations, helping secure the release of numerous victims and arresting suspected kidnappers. At the same time, Dawood is a controversial police officer. Over the years, he has faced multiple allegations and investigations relating to his conduct in various operations, including claims of kidnapping, assault, torture, extortion, corruption and murder. He has been linked to a judicial inquest into the 2010 death of Solomon “Solly” Nengwane while in police custody and has also been investigated by the Independent Police Investigative Directorate (IPID) over other incidents, including a 2022 hostage rescue operation in which two women were shot. Dawood has consistently denied all allegations against him. A 50-year-old biker was killed on the spot after being run over by a tipper truck at Bumbu Bazaar in Davanagere. The horrific accident was captured on a local CCTV camera. The deceased has been identified as Manjunath, a resident of Saraswati Nagar. According to police, the accident occurred when Manjunath was attempting to overtake a tractor travelling ahead of him.
