Sanders: What we have here, and it’s a real issue, is that if you’re progressive, you can go out there and give a great speech, fine. You’re saying all the right things. You’re right on the issues. Great. Can you run a government? Can you be a good mayor? Can you be a good governor? All right. And what Mamdani is doing is showing that you can have a democratic socialist, progressive ideology and run a city. You know what? New York City had really serious snowstorms. It meant that people couldn’t get to work, kids couldn’t get to school, ambulances couldn’t get people to the hospital. You know what he did? He got the bloody snow off the ground and did a great job on that. People in New York City desperately need childcare, as they do in Vermont, as they do all over the country. He is now instituting free childcare for the people of New York City. That is really good. Working-class people need to buy affordable, decent-quality food for their kids. He’s starting to put grocery stores—municipally funded grocery stores—in low-income and working-class areas. That’s good. So the point is, we have got to have progressives who are not only right on the issues—and I speak as somebody who was a mayor for eight years—you’ve got to know how to run a government. You’ve got to cut through the bureaucracy. You’ve got to stand up for working-class people. You’ve got to create the best educational system in the world that we can. You’ve got to make the system work efficiently.

We have a housing crisis because things are too expensive. We have too many people in concentrated areas to actually provide any kind of services. So hospital, fire, police, things like that are hours and hours you're waiting. We're too big of a state for any one person to run without tremendous understanding of what it takes to run a corporation and be a good CEO. It's not a politician's job to be the governor of California, it's like being a president of a country. There's a lot to know. We've got these problems that have grown into massive financial and emotional despair. People are miserable and broke, and it is because we are so siloed in California that we can't be heard at the top level.” Unfortunately there’s nothing anybody can do to change California because Gavin Newsom rigs the elections with illegals, no voter ID and mail in ballots

NRG Strong on the lessons they can take away from their loss to Paper Rex: "I would say the major lesson we probably had was the importance of setting up the players for success. I don't think we did as well as we could today. Maybe there's one or two things we could have done better. I think the major lesson, to be fair, is that our fundamentals are strong. We didn't play badly at all today. But because of how we are as a team, it can always come down to very tight margins. We're a team that doesn't generally blow teams out. We're a team that is so, so good at grinding out rounds and doing that sort of stuff. So I think the big lesson is: we're good, our fundamentals are good, we just have to be tight, and we just can't let anything for error slip in. There are lessons to be taken from this. This wasn't a bad loss. You get bad losses sometimes. It didn't feel like, 'Oh, we don't know what went wrong.' No, we know what went wrong. It's one or two small things, and it's things that we can adapt to, and it's things that will be better under different circumstances, and things that we can make the circumstances better for as well. So yeah, I think that would be the big lesson. We just have to be tight in these circumstances and there's no room for error on our end. That's a big, big, big thing."

That the wrong people are in power, and the wrong people are out of power. I start from the supposition that all we have to do is think about the state of the world today, and realize that things are all upside down. If you don't think, if you listen to TV, read scholarly things, you actually begin to think that things are not so bad. Or that just little things are wrong. But you have to get a little detached, and then come back and look at the world, and you are horrified. So we have to start from that supposition—that things are really topsy-turvy. And our topic is topsy-turvy: civil disobedience. As soon as you say the topic is civil disobedience, you are saying our problem is civil disobedience. That is not our problem…. Our problem is civil obedience. Our problem is the numbers of people all over the world who have obeyed the dictates of the leaders of their government and have gone to war, and millions have been killed because of this obedience. Third is FTA; we are speeding up. Fourth, we are continuing the negotiations. Hopefully, within the next one or two months, we'll have something. The Commerce Ministry is doing the negotiation... In the UK, I think we have a very good FTA because both countries have reduced the tariffs. And Europe also, negotiations are going on. And with some other countries, the UAE and other countries, we are also going to do. So with this, we are also speeding up things to have more FTAs... For those concerned, it may have an impact on them. But overall, I feel that India may benefit if they stay back in India and get good jobs and other things. India is also progressing very well. And then, of course, they will also diversify to other countries..."
