Visiting with missionaries in England recently was immensely nostalgic for me, as I also served as a young missionary in this wonderful country. Elder Clark G. Gilbert and I were so grateful to spend time with these amazing servants. I testify that missionaries of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints around the world are indeed the Lord’s emissaries.

I am deeply honored by this calling to serve as the second counselor in the First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. But at the same time, I recognize I’m not called to be honored—but called to serve. I’m grateful for the opportunity to serve at the side of President Oaks and President Eyring. It is Jesus Christ who is the head of the Church. I know that. I bear witness of it. I am more sure of it every day. I know Him, I honor Him, I pledge my life and discipleship to Him.

Many people still refer to members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as Mormons. In 2018, President Russell M. Nelson gave a talk encouraging the membership of the church and the general public to address the church by its full and proper name. “Joseph Smith did not name the Church restored through him; neither did Mormon. It was the Savior Himself who said, ‘For thus shall my church be called in the last days, even The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.’” This name isn’t new. And yes, we know who you are. I have names, I have locations. I have people who are managerial roles in the Mormon church who just also happen to be in very senior positions in the Legacy program. It’s been a tragic 24 hours for our beloved friends in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. First, with the loss of their president, Russell Nelson, over the weekend. And with the heinous attack on the church in Michigan this morning. To attack people who have joined together in prayer is truly depraved. I send my condolences to everyone impacted.

I am a member of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG). I will not stop attending the church, as I deeply respect the grace of God upon our father in the Lord. However, it is very wrong for our father in the Lord to come out and make this kind of statement. As his members, most of us are not happy with it.

This Veteran was driving into town. He noticed a funeral procession and pulled over. He noticed on the back of the hearse there was a USMC sticker, so he got out and stood at attention and saluted. “And as I did that, cars behind me started to honk. And they weren’t happy. I kept that salute through the honking and people scooting by…. I don’t know what kind of world we live in anymore and I don’t know if I’m created for a world that doesn’t exist anymore….So the question is, did I do what was right? Or am I just an echo from a long bygone era?” I salute you brother! You were taught and raised well, raised with respect. People don’t even pull over anymore. Not sure if they were taught to do so or they are all just in a dang big hurry like the rest of the world is to get where they need to be. Much respect for the person in the hearse and much respect for you for honoring that Veteran. Kudos brother 🤝🫡

Two died, I think 30 people were injured. 26 were kids. And so the terror in that church, I think, is probably warranted. If for no other reason, then we've seen radical violence at a church in the not too distant past.” “We've also seen, I think, attempts to create violence and mayhem and fear in churches around the country, synagogues and other places.
