They’re working two and three jobs just to keep up. In the U.S., 40 percent of workers do not have $400 for an emergency. Now put AI on top of that—the insecurity that we are all experiencing, the fact that people are waking up and some new technology is landing in their jobs without training and without having a say. Of course they’re going to be anxious and feel insecure about what the future holds. And so I really think we need to stop and ask, “Who are we doing this for? What are the results we want? And how do we get there?” We get there by including workers in the process. They shouldn’t have to be at the end of the cycle. They should actually be upstream.

We are not okay, and that’s okay to say. I wish I could tell you that we are standing here and that the rest of the world is standing with us. With you. Sadly I can’t say that. There is a loud and aggressive minority around the world who doesn’t get, that being murdered at a peace festival does not equal resistance. I do however, know that we are standing here on behalf of all those people in the world, with moral clarity. And there are a lot of them. And there are many who want to be here with you. We call it a peace music festival because that’s what it was—a place to make new friends, to let loos explore and celebrate life. Central banks need to be brought under the control of Parliament. “The whole remit for central banks only makes sense if it has social support and public support and ultimately through this parliament and people like you. The moment that support is not there, central banks do not and should not have a role because we are unelected officials with enormous power.” ••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• These were quite refreshing remarks from the Deputy Governor of the RBA. It does beg the question why isn’t the RBA Governor elected by the people and if he/she isn’t elected then shouldn’t the RBA be accountable to the people via the parliament who is elected? I’m pretty sure if a poll was to be taken as to whether or not Central Banks still had public support after the Covid debacle the answer would be no. Which begs the question should central banks even exist? My view is no, especially since the RBA refuse to release minutes of meetings with other central banks. No accountability and no transparency is not very democratic. Furthermore, there is no evidence that making the RBA independent has led to better outcomes. In fact I would argue the opposite. #auspol

THIS FELLOW SAYS EVERY PROBLEM WE HAVE HAS BEEN LEGISLATED TO EXIST. What do you think of his idea of how to solve the problems? He thinks there should be marches right up to where the politicians are and make them come out and answer some questions and that's not all - Listen to the video. Not sure if that's the way to go, but the social media posts are being laughed at it seems by the politicians - We are trying to tell the politicians what we want them to do - All we want is what we voted for in 2024 - There were 77 million of us who voted for Voter ID, and they still don't care. Wouldn't you like them to have to answer as to why they don't want Voter ID?
