Serious question. Why should taxpayers be on the hook for someone's elective surgery? Also, why should the government PROMOTE gender transition? Don't get me wrong, I think adults should be able to surgically change their bodies to match their gender identity if they choose, but I dont think the government should be promoting or paying for any elective surgery, be it gender transition, breast augmentation, or hair transplant surgery. Why will this "ruin lives" as you put it?
