JUST IN | A portion of a century-old clock tower building collapsed at Kerala's Kozhikode railway station, breaking apart and causing debris to fall onto Platform 2 and Track 3 on Thursday forenoon. No injuries or casualties have been reported. Although there were people on the platform, a major disaster was narrowly avoided as no one was directly underneath the structure when it gave way. However Railway authorities maintained that this was not an accident, but rather a planned demolition forming part of the ongoing Kozhikode station redevelopment project. No train services have been disrupted. Video credit : special arrangements

***Cliff rescue*** SFFD received a 911 call from a person stuck on a cliffs edge at Battery Cranston. 2 people claimed the ride had risen and they had no way to get out as needed to be rescued and their cell phone only had 4% battery life left. A Cliff rescue response was dispatched and after using a location app and verbal calls, both were found and hauled up to safety using a rope system. Great work by all SFFD members resulted in the 2 people back to safety in 1 hour and nobody was injured. This is what we train for , even into the late night. #SFFD
