The authorities have made obstacles along the roads by placing hundreds of containers sealing Islamabad and Rawalpindi and making it difficult for people to reach the venue. But despite all the obstacles, which have brought life to a virtual standstill in the city of Rawalpindi and Islamabad, which looks more like a city under siege, containers have been put on all major avenues leading in and out of the city, which, of course, is proving to be adding to the difficulties of those supporters who want to attend this rally. It was very difficult to reach the venue of the rally, as all roads have been blocked. But the people are determined, and these barriers can't stop them. If there is a call from Imran Khan, the people respond in big numbers. The public is with him until their last breath. Al Jazeera English reports on the build-up to this massive rally in Islamabad. #IslamabadJalsa #خان_کی_کال_قوم_کی_للکار

🇵🇰 PAKISTAN has found an extraordinary way to demonstrate how SERIOUSLY it takes PTI’s MARCH: it has started physically dismantling the normal functioning of its own capital. More than 1,500 SHIPPING CONTAINERS have been brought in around Islamabad, stacked and in places welded together to block roads ahead of PTI supporters marching for Imran Khan’s release. Authorities have also detained Khan’s 3 sisters and hundreds of party activists. Some of those containers weren’t simply rented. According to reporting in Pakistan, police seized trucks and containers already carrying commercial cargo, disrupting freight traffic in the process. Keeping 1,550 containers alone is expected to cost Rs46.5 million per day. And then PTI changed the equation. The march, originally due to begin September 27, has BEEN PUSHED TO October 4. PTI spokesman Zulfi Bukhari put the resulting problem rather neatly: “How long they’re willing to keep the country closed off?” That may now be the more interesting test. PTI postponed the march by a week. Islamabad has to decide whether to keep living behind the barricades for one. Source: NY Times / Writer: Oliver

🚨🇺🇸 BREAKING: Trump is making preparations to send nearly 12,000 US soldiers to Iran. The operation is being funded by the Saudi Government, UAE, Qatar and Kuwait. Iran already has 650,000 soldiers and 250,000 paramilitary troops and a total of 2,000,000 troop forces including reserves. The U.S-Israel-GCC ground operations need much more than a miracle to succeed. This is a suicide mission, pure and simple.

A year ago, when Israel launched its campaign against Iran and the US later joined in, Pakistan's Army Chief was invited to the White House in the middle of the war. At the time, many were skeptical. Some in Pakistan even feared Islamabad might be used as a launching pad against Iran. Those fears proved completely misplaced. The outcome was the exact opposite. Today, there is a genuine belief in Tehran that Pakistan's support helped Iran navigate one of the most difficult periods in its recent history. Instead of being used against Iran, Pakistan leveraged its access to the Trump administration to advocate diplomacy and help ease tensions. That is precisely why President Masoud Pezeshkian has chosen Islamabad as his first foreign destination since the war. And there is symbolism here too. Few countries today can so openly display warmth towards Iran. Islamabad's streets are adorned with Iranian flags and portraits of the Iranian leadership. Had any other country done the same, it might have faced criticism from Washington and its Western allies. Pakistan, however, has managed to maintain strong ties with both sides. As JD Vance put it, "We love Pakistan," while the Iranian President arrives in Islamabad to personally thank Pakistan. That says a lot about the balancing act Pakistan has pulled off.

🇮🇷| The IRGC intelligence have arrested 3 rioters linked to Israel The ‘Hazrat Abolfazl’ IRGC Intelligence identified & arrested 3 rioters in Khorramabad. They were receiving orders from agents and they were tasked to send videos to Israeli mouthpiece outlets such as “Iran International” and other hostile media outlets. They vandalized public property and their main task was to turn public protests into riots. They said in the video: • Guy #1: “2-3 days after I got to know him (the agent,) which was the first night of the protests I took part in when I hit and broke an ATM, my own actions were basically done. I came out and joined the protest around 6… something.” • Guy #2: “The [agent] asked me to take photos of [censored,] I asked why; he said, “For now, you only do what I tell you to do.” After that, I took photos of [***] and sent them at night and all that. Then it seems like those photos were sent to a few places, and to Iran International and other places.”

🚨David Pyne: ‘The war on Iran has show the EXTREME NECESSITY for the US to cut off all security assistance to Israel.’ ‘I think that it’s been said that we need to divorce ourselves from Israel. I think that’s true. I think we need to end our alliance with Israel. I think if the US were a bonafide neutral power in the region, with regards to the ongoing Israeli-Iran military disputes, I think we can accomplish a lot more. Iran, much like Russia, is essentially a manufactured enemy… President Trump is principally to blame, not Benjamin Netanyahu, because he is, after all, the President of the United States, one of the top three nuclear superpowers in the world. And he should show a degree of independence from Netanyahu and put America first. "However, there are signs that President Trump's decision over the last couple weeks to stop sending Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner to Pakistan for in-person talks and start doing everything by phone has been paying off."
