Trump raised millions of dollars to knock out his own party members - just because they disagreed with him on a handful of issues. All that proves is that he can manhandle his own teammates. Unfortunately: at the same time, he’s proving that he CANNOT manhandle inflation. He CANNOT manhandle these gas prices. And he CANNOT manhandle Iran. So he can feel better about himself for punching down inside his own party. But it’s not good for our economy — or our democracy— to have a president who is more obsessed with PAYBACK for himself than PROSPERITY for the rest us.

All appeasement achieves is to convince Trump that we are weak, and that he will bear no cost if he escalates his hostile behaviour. The video below reveals that last night Trump told the PMs of Norway and Finland that because Norway had denied him the Nobel Prize, he no longer had an obligation to think purely of peace. Trump is not interested in common security. He is driven by an insatiable compulsion to convince himself that he is powerful. It doesn't matter how many successes he achieves, and how much honour he is granted, he will always want more. And he will want bigger, so if he is granted Greenland, he will immediately want a bigger prize. Trump cannot be appeased. He must be stopped. The task for America's allies is now to persuade enough Republicans in Congress to join the Democrats in acting to curb Trump's excesses. Also, this really does show the geopolitical folly of Brexit.

It is by definition a homegrown industry, so when we're facing a losing trade war with China, with the United States and with others, why not build more here at home?" In my opinion, his anti-Trump rhetoric alienated him from a lot of conservative voters in Canada and had a lot to do with why he lost the election. If he keeps this up, I don't think he'll fare any better in the next. Leave the elbows up junk to Carney and the Liberals.
