Violence in Manipur about to skyrocket in coming days 💣 > Nagas have now put a blockade on National Highways leading to Kuki areas after Kuki militants did not release 6 Naga hostages > Nagas want to starve the Kukis so they surrender > Earlier, Kukis claimed two Kuki pastors were killed by Naga militants, Nagas now claim two Naga pastors are being held captive by Kuki militants ✝️ > Since these same routes supply goods to the Imphal valley, even Meiteis will also suffer due to this

Videos have surfaced online of Assam Rifles troops rescuing Manipur Police commandos pinned down by insurgents with heavy gunfire in a highway ambush. The militants, hiding in a hill, had ambushed a convoy of Manipur Police commandos on the highway between Imphal and the India-Myanmar border town of Moreh on October 31. The commandos were en route to Moreh, 115 kilometres from Imphal, as reinforcements after a senior police officer was shot dead by an insurgent sniper while overseeing the construction of a helipad in the border town, which has seen intense clashes between the hill majority Chin-Kuki tribes and the valley-majority Meiteis in recent months. #Gunfire #AssamRifles #ManipurPolice #Imphal #ChinKuki #ValleyMajorityMeitei

People who think the Manipur violence is "Hindu v Christian" have no idea of what's about to come > Kuki militants attacked a bus of Nagas in Noney, killing one Naga man > This comes after three Kuki pastors were killed in Kangpokpi district which Kukis allege was done by Nagas > 20 Nagas from Konsakhul, a Liangmai Naga village in Kangpokpi, were abudcted merely hours after the attack on the Kuki pastors > Some Gorkhas have also been abducted by Kukis alongside the Nagas > This is barely days after three Tangkhul Naga villages were ethnically cleansed in Kamjong district by Kukis

On January 3, leaders of the Kuki civil society organisation mobilised a large crowd in Kangpokpi, leading to violent clashes between civilians and security forces. The confrontation left several injured, including a woman and multiple men, some of whom are now in critical condition. The protest was ignited by a provocative call to action, urging women to "storm the SP office" in Kangpokpi. Responding to the rallying cry, tensions escalated as an armed Kuki mob, allegedly supported by militants, launched an attack on the SP office. The protestors were opposing the presence of central forces occupying Kuki bunkers and dominating areas referred to as "Kuki red zones." These zones are alleged strongholds of armed Kuki militants, who have been accused of targeting Meitei villages in the valley using hilltop positions. #Manipur #ManipurViolence #Security #Kangpokpi #Protestors #Northeast #IndiaTodayNE
