Where is the journalism? Fox News’ Shannon Bream gave DSA-backed candidate Oliver Larkin unchallenged airtime to lay out a maximalist anti-Israel platform. Larkin is running against incumbent Jared Moskowitz in a redrawn South Florida congressional district with a large Jewish population — the district where Trisha Posner and I vote. In the interview, Larkin: • Brushed off fundraising support from antisemites Hasan Piker and Linda Sarsour • Stated as a “fact” that anti-Zionism “was not antisemitism” • Repeated the entire far-left charge sheet — “genocide” in Gaza, “illegal occupation” in the West Bank, “apartheid,” a “million refugees” in Lebanon, Israel “dragging” America into war with Iran, and Israel as a state of “religious supremacy” • Embraced a “one secular, democratic state” framework — a one-state solution in all but name • Said Israel’s Arab neighbors pose no existential threat to the Jewish state • Rejected any distinction between offensive and defensive weapons, and said the U.S. should cut off military aid entirely because it is “aiding and abetting a genocide” Bream asked prepared questions but never followed up — no demand for evidence, no confrontation of the contradictions in his answers. It ended with a soft “we’ll keep talking about them.” A good interview doesn’t require taking sides. It requires keeping people honest. Bream is a lawyer; she knows how to do it but didn’t do it here. This is not journalism. It is a free airtime gift to a candidate whose coalition and rhetoric treat Israel’s existence as the problem. Voters and viewers deserve better than a scripted platform presented without an iota of scrutiny.
