In 2023, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu came to Oyo State to plead for peace between the Adelabu camp and the Folarin camp so that Oyo State APC could work together and take the state back from OGA SOPE people After all the pleas from Tinubu, Chief Bayo Adelabu still decamped to Accord Party to weaken APC’s chances in Oyo State, yet President Tinubu still rewarded him with a ministerial appointment. The new Electoral Act does not encourage decamping after losing a party primary election.
