The Myth of Influence — John MacArthur I'm thinking about that program the other night with Larry King. I was sitting next to that Catholic priest, and off camera about three times Larry said to him, "Now, do you believe that your religion is true?" "Oh, yes." “Well, if you believe that yours is true, then all of those who say something other than what you say must be wrong." "Oh, no." And he would say, "That's inconsistent. You can't say that yours is true and everybody else's is true when they say something different." He said that about three times off camera. And all the answer, "Oh, the Jesus I know, He just wants unity." And it was just like you couldn't get there from where he was. There was no connect. It's like he was in outer space. I mean, we all know Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No man comes to the Father but by Me. There is no salvation in any other." We all understand that. But let's go a little deeper, okay? We would agree there's only one way to be saved, although that's not necessarily what all these evangelicals are saying today. You can be saved without the gospel. You can be saved without the Bible. the true God is, ever hearing the name of Jesus. But what does it really mean? If you're going to come down to the real singularity of the gospel, where does that take you? | want you to turn in your Bible to just a very important passage, Luke 9. Let's get it in perspective here. We all understand it's Jesus, it's His gospel, death and resurrection.

Mike Vrabel gives a masterclass on mindset, self-talk, and dealing with doubt. "You can't let doubt creep into what you do as a person. I don't care what you do." "You have to be able to talk to yourself and not listen to yourself so much. You have to tell yourself what to believe." Read that again about your self-talk. Mark Zuckerberg explains why he has never believed in delegation (and why founders shouldn't either): Most CEOs believe their job is to hire great people and get out of the way, but Mark disagrees. "I basically don't believe in delegation." He explains his thinking: "There's so much going on across the company that I can't possibly get involved in all of it. So all these people are going to have a ton of stuff that they're going to do." But that's not a reason to step back. It's a reason to be selective and then go deep. "Fundamentally, if there is a decision that I want to be involved with, I'm going to be involved in it." His argument is simple: if you're the one accountable for everything, why would you ever accept being locked out of something important? "If you're running the company and you're on the hook for everything and there's something that's important at whatever level of detail in the organization, I don't get the logic of saying I'm not going to be involved in that." He's not calling for micromanagement, and he acknowledges he can't be everywhere. What he's rejecting is the idea that hierarchy should be a barrier. That founders should stay in their lane. That diving into the details is somehow a sign of poor leadership. Mark Zuckerberg does add one caveat: "You want to have humility and know that if you're diving into some decision, you may not have the most context immediately." But humility about context is different from staying out entirely. Not to find the answer. To ask better questions. He believes the universe is full of things we cannot even formulate yet. We are like children trying to understand calculus. The problem is not that calculus is too hard. The problem is that we have not developed enough to know it exists. Consciousness, to him, is a tool for exploring the universe. The more of it we have, the better our questions become. The better our questions become, the closer we get to understanding what any of this means. This is why he builds rockets and brain interfaces and AI. Not because he has the answers. Because he thinks the only way to get them is to expand what we are capable of thinking. Most people spend their lives looking for meaning. Elon is building the tools to look for it at a scale we cannot yet imagine.
