ALERT: Man with a concealed carry license quick-draws his pistol and shoots an attempted masked robber at a gas station. A man was filling up at a Shell gas station in Orland Park, Illinois, when a masked man came up and held a gun to him, trying to rob him. Naseem Elmosa, whose family owns the business, said, "I would hope that he would just give up his keys, let him take his car, and the guy wouldn't have to use his weapon. Luckily, he had a weapon on him, and he wasn't afraid to take it out." The customer who shot the unidentified would-be thief did not suffer any injury and is cooperating with investigators.

This was heartbreaking. A man came to the official staging area bawling. He was at work and left his dogs at his Palisades home. Police wouldn’t let him through. He rented a bike to try and get there. He was begging the officer to go get them “I need my dogs. They’re my family”

JUST IN: Bodycam footage released from the police officer who shot a dog in Davenport, Iowa. The police officer could be seen putting his hand down to greet the dog before he pulled out his firearm. The Davenport Police have responded to the incident, saying they support the officer's action to fire at the dog. "Body-worn camera supports the officer’s statement about what happened. Based on a review of the facts, the officer’s actions were deemed lawful,” the department said. The two-year-old dog, Myst, passed away. The dog's owner is livid. "The dog runs up to him, and he decides his best option is to draw his gun and k*ll our dog in front of my child, his cousin, and their mother, who were all standing nearby and could have easily been harmed as well," Don Hesseltine said.

NEW: Columbus, Georgia, police chief Stoney Mathis has a blunt message for anyone who targets his police officers: "If you commit murder in the city of Columbus and then you shoot two of my police officers, we're going to kill you." The comment from Mathis came after a suspect, 33-year-old Jerome Willis, shot and killed a manager at a Dollar General before getting in a shootout with police officers. An officer and a police K9 were shot by the suspect. Police returned fire and killed Willis. The police officer and the K9 who were shot are expected to recover. Willis had recently been released from prison. As a juvenile, he was sentenced to 20 years for robbery. He was released before being convicted of terroristic threats in 2024. After serving two years, he was released before murdering Dollar General manager Alexis Hill. Authorities say Willis handed two crumpled $1 bills to Hill for $1.58 hamburger buns. As she was straightening the money, he pulled out a gun and shot her.

A 21-year-old woman was allegedly murdered in broad daylight at the BC Road bus stand in Bantwal taluk of Dakshina Kannada district on Thursday evening, sending shockwaves across Karnataka. The victim, identified as Lavanya, a resident of Kakkepadavu, worked at a private nursing home in Kalladka. Police said the accused, identified as Chethan, allegedly attacked her with a machete after she repeatedly rejected his advances. He was arrested within hours near Vamanjoor-Pacchanadi on the outskirts of Mangaluru following a coordinated police operation. The incident has sparked widespread outrage and renewed concerns over crimes linked to harassment and one-sided obsession. Police have registered a murder case and launched a detailed investigation into the circumstances leading to the attack. According to the police, Lavanya was returning home from work on Thursday, 16 July, at around 6 pm. She had boarded a KSRTC bus from Bantwal to Kakkepadavu after finishing her shift at the private nursing home in Kalladka. Police said Chethan, who is believed to be a distant relative of the victim, boarded the same bus and sat next to her. The accused had allegedly been pursuing Lavanya despite her repeatedly rejecting his advances. Sensing something was wrong, Lavanya reportedly called one of her relatives and informed them that a young man had sat beside her on the bus. The call was disconnected shortly afterwards. After Lavanya got off the bus at the BC Road bus stand, the accused allegedly followed her. Police said he then took out a machete from a bag and chased her. Despite her attempt to escape, he allegedly attacked her repeatedly before fleeing the scene. Police personnel from the Bantwal subdivision and Bantwal Town Police Station rushed to the spot soon after receiving information about the incident and began an investigation. Lavanya, who sustained critical injuries, was immediately shifted to Bantwal Taluk Hospital. However, she succumbed to her injuries despite efforts to save her. After the attack, the accused allegedly fled towards Mangaluru in an Alto car. During his escape, he reportedly called Lavanya's father and told him that he had killed his daughter and intended to end his own life. Acting swiftly, the Bantwal subdivision police formed a special investigation team. Using mobile phone location data and CCTV footage, officers traced and arrested the accused along with the vehicle near Vamanjoor-Pacchanadi on the outskirts of Mangaluru. Police sources said the accused had allegedly created a disturbance at the private hospital where Lavanya worked about a month earlier. Hospital staff reportedly intervened and prevented the situation from escalating. Investigators are now examining whether the absence of a formal police complaint after the earlier incident contributed to the tragedy. Bantwal Town Police have registered a case and are continuing their investigation.

🚨 HE CHARGED POLICE WITH A MACHETE AFTER ATTACKING AN AMBULANCE A man got into a road rage incident with a Long Beach Fire Department ambulance that was actively transporting a patient. When officers tried to stop him, he fled on foot armed with a machete. Police used less-lethal options and tried to talk him down. He answered by running directly at them with the machete. He was shot and remains in critical condition. This wasn’t a mental health moment. This was a grown man choosing violence over and over first against an ambulance, then against the police. I don’t care what his problems were. When you run at cops with a machete after already endangering a patient, you’re not a victim. You’re a threat. How many more times does this exact situation have to play out? Source: KTLA
