LA-based Iranian singer Binesh Bolour, better known by his stage name "Gheysar", who was long barred by Iran along with other foreign-based artists, returned home and took the stage in Tehran on Thursday to perform at an Eid al-Ghadir celebration. Gheysar, whose career includes a history of several live performances in Tel Aviv, Israel, has been known for his pop songs. But recently he has taken a different stance; this includes producing a track in collaboration with the Ma'wa Center—affiliated with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps —in support of the students killed in the airstrikes on Minab school. Emphasizing that as an Iranian he has the right to return to his homeland, the singer appeared at the gathering in Tehran's "Imam Hossein" Square during Eid al-Ghadir and performed a track titled "Tehran." His return to Iran comes despite the Islamic Republic's law that forbids travel to Israel.
