Rongjiang County Flooded Twice in One Week — Devastation Spreads Across Guizhou, China. I’m just leaving here with this update 👇 Rongjiang County, Guizhou Province, China — Between June 24 and June 29, Rongjiang endured back-to-back floods that devastated the region, disrupted daily life, and triggered mass evacuations. 🔹 June 24: The first wave of flooding paralyzed Rongjiang. Roads were cut off, the city came to a standstill, and communities were trapped by rising waters. 🔹 June 26: Things took a turn for the worse as an upstream reservoir released floodwaters. The surging river overflowed into the city, inundating streets and homes. 🔹 June 28: As residents began cleanup, thinking the danger had passed, torrential rains returned. Within just 7 minutes, a second flood swept through the city. Alarms rang, evacuation orders were issued, and chaos ensued as people fled on foot and by vehicle. It was the second flood in less than a week. 🔹 June 29: As waters finally receded, residents came back to heartbreaking scenes: streets buried in thick mud, furniture and cars swept away, and neighborhoods left in ruins. In older, narrow streets, people were seen hauling out silt on their backs — with no machines able to enter. 📍 The disaster extended far beyond the city center. Villages across Rongjiang and nearby Leishan County were also hit hard. In Leishan, first floors were submerged within two hours. Officials reported 6 deaths, but local accounts suggest the actual toll could be higher
