MSNBC Analyst Christopher O'Leary admits the attack on ICE is left-wing terrorism — and says the solution is for the Trump admin to change its policies. That is, give the terrorists what they want. Holder: You know, they have elections in Russia, and Putin gets 95, 93% of the vote. We’ll continue to have elections here in the US. The question is whether or not the elections that we have here will be meaningful ones—whether the people will actually get the opportunity to express their views on the policy direction of the nation. And so again, it’s all about power—whether it’s gerrymandering, weakening the Voting Rights Act to take power away from people who the people in power now think are not supportive of them. It’s all about the acquisition and the use of power. And that’s one thing that we on the progressive side, on the Democratic side, have got to get used to. It’s not a bad thing for us to say that we want to acquire and use power. Doesn’t mean we’re going to use it in the same way that Republicans and conservatives have—in the negative way that they have done it. But Roosevelt wasn’t afraid of acquiring and using power. Johnson wasn’t afraid of acquiring and using power. That’s what we have to be about. And so, fighting back the way in which Governor Newsom has, and folks in California, by putting together Prop 50, is exactly what we have to do. We’ve got to fight for this.

To go back to human evolution, we have a survival instinct that constantly pushes. We push out of the cave, we push across the ocean, we push to the moon. Everything is pushing to the next horizon in order to survive. What happens in a society where you really don't have to push that hard or at all to survive anymore? What happens when you come to a society where everything is provided for you? The brain, which has developed to push for its survival over hundreds of thousands of years isn't gonna shut that mechanism off. That's its nature. So now the brain doesn't have anything external to push against. It looks around and says, "Well, it must be us." It starts to push internally against the substructure, the architecture that has provided all of these things. "Maybe we're the bad ones because everyone around is suffering, and we have too much." That's the sort of impetus that you see on a lot of these college campuses that precipitates and I think feeds the value system of weakness.

Time for a dose of political Narcam At some point there is going to be a reckoning with the truth. It’s time for us to stop being the batteries for the machine that is the Epstein class. We need to understand that we are the fuel for their corruption and abuse. It’s our tax dollars that are paying for it all, while they laugh at us behind our back. The pitchforks should already be out, so you have to ask yourself why they aren’t. It’s because we’re not prepared to reach for them yet. So what does that say about us? We can’t even stop spending despite knowing that it would be the answer to stop this tyranny. It’s time to pause and ask the question, ‘What do we want?’ If we want it to end we can make it happen in a month, yet here we are. It’s time for a splash of ice cold water on the face. It’s our aversion to inconvenience that has allowed them to rape and pillage society in order to satisfy their greed, and we are the ones saying thank you as we stand in ordered lines to enter their extortion chamber. All we can do is continue playing our role, preaching unity in this country. We all desire a nation where everyone is respected; where security personnel serve to protect all citizens equally, not to defend a select group or persecute others simply because they believe they own this country. It’s a shame that in this era, we still witness such backwardness where a small clique believes that if you don’t share their political ideology, you deserve to be beaten. It’s even more shameful that the very security personnel entrusted to protect the people instead shield those who commit these injustices. It’s a tragedy that those perpetuating this behavior fail to see the real mess our country is in. They don’t realize that we all suffer the same when we walk into the sick health centers, and that the arc of bad governance strikes us all regardless of who we are or what political side we belong to. It's a big shame indeed!

Thoughts and prayers have done nothing, it’s time to act. Gun violence is the leading cause of death for kids in this country. It doesn’t have to be this way. There are real actions that we all can take to prevent tragedies. We need to stop normalizing gun violence.

But I just have artistic impulses, and they shape my life, and I’ve allowed myself—or I’ve been forced to allow myself—the freedom to live that way. And there’s one country in the world where you get rewarded for that, because in America, if you deliver, you can be you. You’re your own boss, right? You decide who you want to talk to, you decide who you don’t want to talk to. You have ideas of things you’d like to advance on. And I think one of the biggest variables in my life is simply that I live in a culture where if you deliver—in this case economically—and by the way, at 18, for most investors, we were failing for at least 15 years. Many would say 18 years. Honestly, some would say until two years ago. And still, this is a culture where the financials are going to show up. That’s only possible in this culture. I guess maybe because I lived abroad so long, it’s easier for me to accept and rely on that. I think sometimes people who’ve lived here their whole life don’t always exactly understand that this is a maximal freedom culture. It’s the only culture like this in the world, and it allows you to self-express. But it is actually — The Washington Post that’s reporting two political appointees from the Treasury Department who have asked agencies to be ready to — to do that. Do you think politically, it’s a good idea to put his face on a $250 bill when people are struggling to afford gas and groceries?” Treasury Secretary Bessent: “You know, I don’t really understand this Washington Post article that — who here’s from The Post? Yeah. Terribly written, terribly edited. Because basically what it says is that Treasury is following the law and that we created the bill and that it’s up to Congress, but that — we follow the bill and it’s up to — I didn’t really understand what the story was.” Bessent: “So — anyway —” Collins: “So, these two political appointees aren’t involved in that? Two of your political appointees?” Bessent: “Yeah, of course, but we — we prepare for everything. If it gets passed, just like we — we were ready six months in advance of the one big, beautiful bill for tax guidance that. So, we have to prepare in advance.
