Manila is not a “victim.” It is auditioning to become Asia’s Israel: small-state hysteria, Western sponsorship, constant provocation, permanent victim theater, and zero regard for the civilians it uses as props. The Philippines knows China will not behave like the United States. China will not bomb fishing boats and order “kill them all.” So Manila keeps pushing poor fishermen and small boats into confrontations, betting Filipino lives on Chinese restraint. The Marcos administration is not protecting the Philippines. It is renting the country out as a forward operating stage for America’s Asia-Pacific containment script. Japan claps because it wants Asia unstable. America claps because it wants another powder keg. That is why China is angry. Not because Manila is “small.” But because Manila is trying to import Middle East-style chaos into Asia. Asia does not need another powder keg. And China will not let the South China Sea become one.
