James: It’s unfortunate that the president is weaponizing the federal government, particularly the DOJ. It’s also unfortunate that Pam Bondi seems to believe that the DOJ is the personal attorney for the President of the United States, rather than serving the interests of America, the rule of law, and our democracy. That’s what’s truly unfortunate. It’s also unfortunate that we no longer have an independent DOJ, and that now it’s up to Democratic attorneys general, who are standing up to ensure that our liberties, our freedoms, and our democracy are protected, and that our systems and institutions are respected. That’s what we do, and that’s why we’re here.

Newly released camera footage from last week showed the moment a Rhode Island assistant attorney general was arrested for allegedly trespassing, according to the Rhode Island Attorney General’s Office. In the video, as officers approached Special Assistant Attorney General Devon Flanagan and her friend Veronica Hannan, Flanagan pointed at one of them and requested to turn off his body camera. During the incident, Flanagan repeated that she was "an AG." After attempts to deescalate the situation, the officers arrested both women. Police said Flanagan was summoned to court on a willful trespass charge. The attorney general's office said they're reviewing the incident.

The role of that particular position is to serve as the people's lawyer. Todd Blanche has been acting like Donald Trump's lawyer, which was his former position, but he has failed to transition in terms of behaving in the best interest of the American people.
