But at the end of the day, we all must make a choice: back down or double down. GOP Alaska Sen Lisa Murkowski could switch parties. She could oppose every nominee. She could use her status in the majority party to hold Donald Trump accountable. Instead, during Trump’s first term, Sen Murkowski voted with Trump 73% of the time. This term, Sen Murkowski has voted for 20 of Trump’s cabinet nominees. There are people with far less privilege and power than Sen Murkowski who have stood up to Trump.
