We've got needs at home, which include our infrastructure, our roads and bridges. We've got a shortfall in that fund. And we've got homeless veterans, and we're sending more money to Israel in this bill than we spend on homeless veterans in this country. Just to put it in perspective, there are 3000 counties in this country, and if you divide that into 3 billion, that's $1 million from every county. This is not a significant amount of money that is going overseas. So I think we should stop it. We should put them on a diet.

Johnson on the GOP bill: We went from $4.4 trillion in spending to over seven this year—$7.3 trillion next year—and the CBO baseline would show about $2.1 trillion deficits as far as the eye can see. The score from CBO on the One Big Beautiful put that at $2.4 trillion... I'd like it much better. Right now, I'm not going to vote for a motion to proceed today. We just got the bill, and I got my first copy about 1:23 in the morning this morning.

Michigan’s Constitution requires a two-thirds vote for earmarks and funding directed to special projects and private entities. But Michigan lawmakers bypassed that requirement and approved billions in funding for projects including two local baseball stadiums, a cricket field, a distillery, labor unions, and other projects. This ruling is a strong sign that lawmakers may finally be forced to follow the law and protect taxpayers from misuse of their dollars.

The Big Beautiful Bill has passed the House. What does this mean to you? Fundamentally it’s this: your taxes won’t drastically increase in December (that will happen automatically unless we take action). It’s a lot more than that, though. We also reined in major spending programs by well over a trillion dollars. We got my amendment in that prevents federal funding from going toward gender transitions on kids. We are reimbursing border states like Texas for our expenses fighting illegal immigration, a bill I introduced back in 2021. Was it all the spending cuts I wanted? Of course not. But the reality of legislating is getting the most conservative bill that can actually get the votes and become law. We accomplished that. Huge win today. Thank you, President Trump, who played an enormous role in encouraging consensus. Now we hope the Senate will do their part and get this to the President’s desk.

Democrats are insane. Republicans have put together a product that has a lot of good pieces to it, but it's falling short in my view. I want the Green New Scam deal fixed, and I want us to get to the place where we're honoring our commitment to reduce deficits. EXPOSED 🚨 California Democrats have been using a loophole to take in more federal funds “California figured this out, that they can force the federal government to spend $9 for every $1 that it spends. They're using it to launder money, and this is the way they do it. - It costs no money to California because they raise taxes on managed care companies, the companies that are providing Medicaid. - So they go to these companies and say, we're going to tax you, but don't worry, we're going to give you all of the money that we just taxed you from, right back. - But in the meantime, we're going to take that money and we're going to pull down federal dollars, and that'll let us have more money so that we can spend it on expanding the population for Medicaid and spend it on illegal immigrants.
