The independent autopsy says cause and manner are undetermined pending investigation. It doesn't say the State improperly removed his throat or blocked a 2nd opinion. Official autopsies involve removal, dissection, and retention of organs and tissues, and further testing where appropriate.

That’s common, they remove a piece to examine it they don’t take out the whole throat. The independent autopsy should’ve been able to get a sample of the same tissue the state did. If not they could’ve requested the tissue sample to review it.

We need to rely on the original autopsy. The second autopsy knew it would not be conclusive and the family has the original report. Why are you even speaking about an autopsy that can only be partially completed?

lol they did not “ remove his throat” they removed the hyoid bone and tissues and cartilage of the esophagus to test forensics for possible signs of trauma vs. natural drowning… it had to be done to be through, and you can’t put it back in while it’s off for forensic testing..

Removal of the organs is standard procesure in any autopsy, and the removal of the throat and associated structures is standard procedure when a body is recovered from the water, the redness at the back of the head is quite common in drownings where the body is face down.

During an initial autopsy examiners usually take tissue samples and fluids . They will take organs for detailed study but organs are usually returned to the body.They obviously didn't. The 2nd examiner must request those tissue and slides for review!

Sometimes I wish I could see thru the eyes of the deceased in their final moments, especially when a death is questioned. Witnessing fear, violence, and death would be terrifying. I should be careful what I ask for. For now the responsible thing is to await the state’s results.
