Point of correction you said no other player has been given this , Ronaldo is the first recipient of article 27 for this very same World Cup , he also had a red card and shouldn’t have played the group stages and in his case no one thought his red card was given in error I am kinda surprised that everyone is now making a fuzz when same is done for the USA on a controversial red card

@UEFA This is why soccer is gay. Massive bickering about rules, when FIFA violated the rules to issue a red card in the first place.

Benjamin's profile picture

@UEFA I totally agree, but does violating them again make that right?

@UEFA Yes. It literally rights a wrong. I hope Balogun scores a hat trick so that annoying people are more upset.

The VAR issue is simple. Slow motion can be used to identify the point of contact, but it should not be used to judge the intensity of the challenge. That part is supposed to be viewed at normal speed. And that is exactly where this call fell apart. Balogun’s contact looked accidental in real time. But once you freeze it, slow it down, and turn it into a crime scene, almost anything can look worse than it actually was. Meanwhile, Messi had a very similar incident earlier in the tournament and somehow there was no red, no card, and no VAR drama. Funny how that works. The red card for incidental contact was a pathetic call. Harsh, inconsistent, and exactly the kind of VAR nonsense that makes people hate FIFA officiating.

Benjamin's profile picture

@UEFA Please don’t think that I am here trying to say the Balogun is bad.. I am not hating on the player or on the USA. I am concerned at the manner in which this has been done

@UEFA A statement from Soccer: Soccer is what we play in America. That was a bitch ass red card. Should’ve been a yellow max. FIFA realized that their refs are pussies and did the right thing and fixed it. Balogun is about to go off.

@UEFA It’s funny it’s only an issue now that it’s a USA player. Multiple red card suspensions were lifted going into it. It was the bad call and by fifa rules.. the red card should have NEVER been given. Therefore this was justice.

Benjamin's profile picture
Benjamin4 months ago

@UEFA I’m honestly not worried about the fact that it’s United States. It’s a problem no matter who it is. I also agree that it wasn’t a red card. But this isn’t the standard for how justice is served - you must understand that.

Andrew's profile picture
Andrew4 months ago

@UEFA There is a rule that directly states the wya the card was given was wrong. Just bc VAR is new and it fucked up doesn’t mean this was wrong. If VAR didn’t exist he doesn’t get the red card after the play. Blame VAR. call on the field was NOT a red.

Benjamin's profile picture
Benjamin4 months ago

@UEFA I think that is subjective though.

MikeEliasStanClub's profile picture

@Andyjayindadirt @UEFA But you did say in the video he got issued the card and the US could have used VAR to review it. That’s not what happened. He wasn’t issued a card at first and then they used slow motion on VAR to go from no card to a red card.

Benjamin's profile picture
Benjamin4 months ago

@Andyjayindadirt @UEFA The real fuck up here is that you can use VAR to do one thing, but not another.. It all needs a lot of clarification

🫡 Byrdman Sr.🇺🇸's profile picture

@UEFA You completely rule out the INITIAL rule violation, VAR is NOT ALLOWED to review a challenge, IF the REFEREE doesn’t call a FOUL in the moment! At this point, I hope we sit Balo, just so assholes like you, “win”. 🫡🇺🇸

Benjamin's profile picture
Benjamin4 months ago

@UEFA Bro, I’m not an asshole. I’ve predicted USA to win. I’m just saying, FIFA shouldn’t be changing application of the rules like this.

🫡 Byrdman Sr.🇺🇸's profile picture
🫡 Byrdman Sr.🇺🇸4 months ago

Fair. I’ve enjoyed your content, for the record. I take back the asshole accusation, your response was appreciated. BUT, the rules were changed when the VAR ref, changed the application of the rules. The head referee must call a foul, if he doesn’t, the VAR ref has no jurisdiction! BUT! I’m conflicted, I was all in on the boys playing for their mate, who was wrongfully punished. I still think the play is not playing Balo. We can still win & unleash him against Port/Spain winner.

Benjamin's profile picture
Benjamin4 months ago

@UEFA It was only very recently that you could review anything… I think the most important outcome of this is that FIFA should clarify their position and be clear about what is an isn’t challengable and at what stage

🫡 Byrdman Sr.🇺🇸's profile picture
🫡 Byrdman Sr.🇺🇸4 months ago

@UEFA It would be 100% fair, & just, if you’d make a video stating facts. In real time, the head referee thought nothing of malice, from the challenge. VAR is null & void, & according to the rules, should NOT have been able to intervene.

@UEFA Upon review of the video the U.S. soccer player did not deserve the extreme suspension warning. He did not trip the #Belgium player. It was an accident! The reversal of the red card was the right thing to use. Any org complaining is complaining against the U.S. not what’s right.

TripleBogey678's profile picture
TripleBogey6784 months ago

The ref in real time didn’t hand a red or even a yellow card for the foul because it wasn’t a foul. At the insistence of VAR he reviewed if for a serious foul. If you’re going to have “opinions” have the facts right. That said, I find it hilarious that FIFA corruptly reversed this and I do hope Balogun does score a hat trick and bounces those weird Temu French Flemish fucks out of the World Cup! AMERICA FUCK YEAH!!!

@UEFA Stop pretending that you were beside yourself with the Ronaldo one when you claim in this video that it was unprecedented and you didn’t make a video on it. You’re a liar. Perhaps you worded everything exactly how you wanted because it would get more interactions? Good Con 🤷‍♀️

@UEFA It was a bad call and they want Americans to embrace the sport. The reffing is clearly where rigging takes place. Even new fans can see how bad the calls are. It was wrong, now it’s corrected. Get better refs.

@UEFA Your wrong on the facts about the VAR challenge. The ref made no call. VAR then showed him a still of the play and a slow motion replay. Neither of which are allowed to be used to make the call. The ref and VAR went against protocol in changing the play from a non-call to a red.

@UEFA They used VAR improperly. Where is the outrage over that? That seems to be a clear violation of their laws that led to all of this

And FYI, I'll take the opinion of a former pro. I think the only mistake made post match is how long it took them to make this decision. I have no idea why there is not appeals process for the world cup, have a group of people on stand by that can meet and review any appeals. It should only take a day max, min a few hours.

@UEFA We stand for justice in the United States of America. The Europansies need to learn this (your continent has really lost its ways). This was never a Red Card and the VAR Interpretation was used which was explicitly against the rules of Game.

@UEFA This is why Americans think this sport is useless. You guys are crashing out over someone actually getting touched. And yet your national teams are full of fake imports from African nations. None of this is real.

Gemini85's profile picture

Your only point of contention is the suspension of the red? Not the implementation of the VAR use in the first place which was also a violation of their own rules to begin with. And no, the challenge wasn’t even called on the field to begin with. There wasn’t even a yellowed card issued after the play. The only penalty that was ever issued was the red card after the VAR review in the end. So you are mad and you don’t even understand everything that happened…

@UEFA #1 Not unprecedented. See Christiano Ronaldo #2 Ref didn’t give the red card on the field. It wasn’t until VAR stepped in and used illegal methods (slow motion) to enable the ref to justify the red card. The biggest issue is that it took so long to overturn+Trump involved(?)

CIJL's profile picture

If you care so much about the integrity, where was UEFA when that red card was issued and VAR was used incorrectly? The game was spoiled with that red card and you say validated by VAR. no serious coach from any region can agree that was a red card foul. Where is UEFA’s comment that this was an injustice?

For almost a decade, we have lived in a world where century held laws and regulations have been handled on a two tiered scale. Even the police would arrest the victim while the aggressor is smiling in the background. Spare me the outrage. Where was UEFA when Messi was spared a red card for a more egregious foul?

Wolf Creek Jack's profile picture

@UEFA American here, while I didn’t see the foul, we must trust the refs and allow the system to be fair. Otherwise, there will not be fair competition, and that’s what we all want.

@UEFA I’m an American football supporter… and I hate this decision. It was a clear red. Balogun raked the calf, landed on the ankle, and deserved to see red. This looks shady and corrupt. Now, if we win, there will always be an asterisk. And rightfully so.

@UEFA They did this when FIFA allowed ronaldo to play. Pushing his suspension out. So it only affected part of the tournament. Bottom line it was not just a shitty call but a real shitty call using a new system VAR which was grossly misused.
